"Been doing some deep thinking today and wanted to share something that really struck me: the growing body of scientific evidence connecting microplastics in our bodies and brains to some pretty serious health concerns. It’s not just a 'future problem'—it's happening now.
There's even a hypothesis that individuals with autism or ADHD might have impaired detoxification pathways for these plastic-associated toxins.
Scientists are discovering microplastics are getting past our blood-brain barrier, and accumulating in places we never expected. While human research is still evolving, animal studies are pointing to alarming links with ASD-like behaviors, cognitive impairment, and other mental and physical health issues.
These plastics are often carrying endocrine-disrupting chemicals, adding another layer of risk.
It makes you wonder: with everything else going on, why aren't we talking more about the tiny invaders that could be impacting our health and the health of future generations? What are your thoughts? How do we push for more awareness and action on this?
