I am so glad I asked for help. Even though the world is VERY hostile to trans people, and too many cisgender people mostly ignore this... there is a lot of love to be had. I let myself receive it!

I had my third post-surgery visit to the surgeon yesterday. Upon seeing my results he got confused & thought I was 2 months post procedure - I'm two 1/2 weeks out. Strength-building, yoga, vegan foods, meditation, & mindfulness work - as well as the work I put into a social network, and my therapist - are the major factors to my swift healing.

It's a major surgery, I have medical movement restrictions for five more weeks! But I'm doing well.

I simply am in awe of how well and quickly my body is healing. And how not-gross it has been all in all. Worst part was 1. How my throat felt after anesthesia, on the two hour drive home and 2. how hot the tight dressings made me - but they were removed on day six.

I am so amazed with myself I did it. I had to overcome so much to do it but I did it.

Slept very well, had my first post-op visit, came home and napped. Got up and took a long walk! Home resting again. Eating and hydrating well. Going to drop my nerve pain medication because it makes me feel drowsy/goofy. I am in my boredom era of recovering from #genderaffirming #surgery. I am recovering very well (I think! Surgeon visit in about an hour) but my body can’t do what my brain wants to do. It’s very hard to be patient. I feel a bit worthless. #trans #lgbtq

I'm two days post- gender affirming surgery and things have been going really well. I prepared well & took care of my body and mind as best I could prior. I also just weirdly think that because I was suffering so much before surgery, it was likely I'd suffer less after. That's just superstition, but it seems to have worked out that way.

I have a healing journey ahead of me but so far I've been doing so well. Big thanks to ALL who have supported in various ways!
