Ever wondered why European politicians keep backing #Israel even as public opinion turns against its genocidal war in #Gaza? Groups like #ELNET play a huge role - organizing VIP trips to Israel for lawmakers, pushing ready-made talking points that equate criticism with #antisemitism, and even influencing arms deals worth billions. While polls show most Europeans want sanctions, politicians stay silent, fearing backlash or economic ties.
[âŚ] ELNET, whose former CEO, Emmanuel Navon, presented it to the Knesset as the European equivalent of the powerful American lobby #AIPAC, operates six branches in Europe - in Paris, London, Brussels, Rome, Warsaw, and Berlin - in addition to its main headquarters in Israel. Among other activities, ELNET organizes delegations for hundreds of parliamentarians, distributes advocacy materials, promotes arms deals, and acts against pro-Palestinian movements across the continent. In recent months, a group of journalists from Germany, Israel, France, and the U.S. conducted a comprehensive investigation into the organization, aiming to shed light on its activities. The investigation, based on dozens of interviews and thousands of documents, exposes how the organization operates and its close ties with senior officials in #Netanyahuâs government and other right-wing bodies. In the few mentions of ELNET in the Israeli media, it is typically presented as a nonprofit or international/European organization focused on strengthening relations between Europe and Israel.

I totally agree, especially as German philosemitism amounts to German nationals without Jewish heritage deciding about who is an acceptable Jew and who is not. The Nazis were more blunt claiming the right to decide who is Jewish out of opportunistic reasons.
Jewish people living in Germany can get into a lot of trouble if they oppose the Deutsche Staatsräson to excuse and support everything Israel does not only to Palestinians, but Lebanese and other people in Western Asia too.
So it's not about being Jewish at all, it's about aiding and abetting a policiy of settler colonialism which is of direct use for the hegemonic goals of Germany.

It was barely a month into President Donald Trumpâs second term, and a team of black-clad private security officers was violently dragging a woman out of a Republican town hall meeting in Idaho. The activist group called for opposition to the Nazi regime through an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign. The Nazis put on a show trial in which none of the defendants were allowed to speak. They executed Hans and Sophie Schol, and Christoph Probst on February 22, 1943. White Rose leaflets openly denounced the persecution and mass murder of the Jews. They might have taken their name from the poem "Cultivo una rosa blanca," by Cuban revolutionary and poet, Jose Marti. Alternatively, they may have gotten it from the B. Traven novel, âDie WeiĂe Roseâ (The White Rose).â Traven served on the Central Council of the short-lived Bavarian Soviet Republic. He escaped the terror that followed the crushing of the Republic and fled to Mexico, where he wrote numerous novels, including âDeath Shipâ and âThe Treasure of the Sierra Madre.â
