Website uptime: 99.9% or 99.99%?
Your website's uptime may or may not matter much. If customers have to come to your shop, your website can be down a bit and it won't matter. If you're running an e-commerce website, you need your site up and running all the time.
That means that your website uptime SLA should say 99.99%.
😬 99.9% uptime means yearly 8h 45m 57s of downtime
😉 99.99% uptime means yearly 52m 36s of downtime
Time literally is money in this case.

I love reading all those #SEO (or #GEO?🙃) recommendations suggesting ways to get content loved by LLM-powered search-engines and seeing stuff like "explain what the image is about", "make sure you describe the video", or "don't use JavaScript to load content".
I really love all of these tips because they're 💯 correct.
I love seeing SEOs and companies finally accepting #Accessibility is something they should keep in mind.
When we're talking about #PageSpeed, we often forget:
👉 The user's device because old devices are slower than newer ones
👉 The browser they use because not all of them are equally fast
👉 The location of the user because not all areas are have the same mobile network coverage
👉 Whether their device and browser are fully updated
A better use of dev time?
👍 Improve internal linking
👍 Improve page templates
👍 Improve crawlability
👍 Improve your site's information architecture

I like the podcast but the episode resonated on multiple fronts, I push accessibility whenever I can, I am old and remember how websites were coded, I learned html and css the old school way, coded my first site manually. I remember discovering Dreamweaver...

Made me feel old when they mentioned an FTP upload of an entire website.
So, Eli Schwartz published a post saying that SGE will launch on 5/14 at Google I/O. He also said on LinkedIn that date is reliable as of last week (I guess based on someone from Google??) I've been pretty vocal that I do not believe Google will launch SGE as-is unless it's revenue-neutral or positive. So if that date is correct, then either SGE is generating more ad revenue than I thought, or we will see some big changes ad-wise in the next 1.5 months :)

And sometimes, only sometimes, I even have to use a very long regwx formula to filter things out and get to the point. Life's not fair in my case.
