Added bonus: the Circuit Playground Express also has a speaker and can play sounds, immediately after power up (by inserting the floppy disk of course). So I can play the Mac startup chime! 😍
Now, if I could get it to boot into Basilisk II quicker 😆

i think im gonna get an aeropress. so what tool for grinding the bean do y'all recommend? i'm a coffee greenhorn, don't have a lot of money or kitchen space, and would probably be drinking single cups at a time, so preferably something cheap and small
Don't anthropomorphize LLMs, language is important. Say "the bot generated some text" not "the AI replied". Use "this document contains machine-generated text" not "this work is AI-assisted". See how people squirm when you call out their slop this way.
if doraemon is a robot then how does he eat dorayaki
the youngsters these days have no patience for gongfu tea making. i get out the books about proper gaiwan technique and the kids all say "oolong, didn't read." and then they laugh and laugh
the person who makes these tea blends got back to me. apparently she likes strong brews and uses slightly larger mugs than average, so she tests using a tablespoon and thus recommends a tablespoon (but of course she said whatever way you like best for brewing tea is the real recommendation)
if anyone is curious, the tea i got is from a little outfit called decus workshop. they theme their blends after d&d stuff, and they also make dice. the blends are legit, i really like their tea
@Hearth i bought this tea at the same booth i bought the infuser. the same people also make dice, and use their imperfect runs of dice to decorate the infusers they sell, so i feel decently confident they think the infuser is the right size for their tea - which makes me think it's just a misprint. i'm gonna contact them and ask
@eniko to be fair, middle management would be pretending technical debt isn't real even without ai
funniest possible tea update: i think i found out why i was having trouble cleaning the teapot shaped ball infuser
the standard line for tea making is one teaspoon (hence the name) of leaves per eight ounces of water, right? well. i did not know that prior to getting this loose leaf. so what i had to go on was what was printed on the bag:
maybe ill learn to brew tea in an aeropress so everyone gets mad at me at once. very efficient
@coriander i have learned that i need a strainer basket for broken leaf and a gaiwan for loose leaf, very precise control over water temperature and steep times, an intimate knowledge of the precise composition and origin of my tea, and if i don't spend an entire hour on making a single cup then i should be branded an enemy of the state
honestly the main thing im learning here is that tea snobs are annoying as hell
oh i see. tea leaf expansion
(doing some extra research) why does everyone hate ball type infusers
ive made a word discovery. all "ThingArt" trademarks can be turned into fun racing games with the simple addition of a K:
DeviantKart
SheezyKart
Microsoft WordKart
uhh. Kartdink
#MutualAidRequest can I get literally just like. twenty-something bucks so I can turn my phone service back on and get and place calls for the myriad of things that you need to have a phone at the ready for always and forever?
(more at least gets me out of the 300 i'm in the red but thankfully I can pay my phone bill directly via PayPal)
https://ko-fi.com/senil
https://paypal.me/senil888streams (purely because this is the one my phone is logged in to)
hopefully tax return is, y'know, sizeable enough to briefly help but I won't be getting that for a couple of months at minimum.
:senil_flat:
edit: phone is back on, yippee, but still pretty in the red and can use some help being Not In The Red by about 325 USD so other bills and shit will process. Even if it means overdraft fees hitting again.
my biggest and bestest lego print yet! thanks hokusai for making one of the greatest compositions of all time. this is almost the exact same size as the original woodblock prints, image size of 10"x14" (paper 11"x15.25")
if i sell a couple of these it'll fund my camera habit and maybe my rent. $100 + shipping
When Inru suddenly decided to print itself a body, it was so eager to exist, it hardly touched the character editor and went with the default settings (shown on the left). The only thing it changed was its fluff level, and then it hopped out of the printer too quickly and its ears didn’t solidify.
