Just finished a therapy session and learned about mirror neurons and why intrusive thoughts even happen. Our brains do everything it can to keep us safe, even if that means doing the action that was done to you in the form of an intrusive thought in order to gain control over it. 🧠

I asked her, "so it's our brain trying to save us from the pain but just doing more harm than good in the process?"
