@klausman but you do have a point that these videos encourage newcomers to build stuff, and that is good.
My bank sent a survey on how satisfied I am with their service. They have all my money and basically do with it as they please. Their services are keeping track of a number which will never be larger than an int32. I get a piece of plastic to access said int32. They charge about 50€ per year for this service in addition to whatever they make off fiddling with my money. Do you think I am satisfied?
Putting a ready-made switching PSU module in a box is DIY now?? #electronics
Today's major accomplishments were accepting a package and dropping off a package.
I made an app.

Nearby Glasses is here to warn you when smart glasses are nearby.
I hope it's useful for someone.
The app is now open source (AGPL-3.0), the app is free and rather simple

It's also downloadable outside the Play Store. iOS port is in the making. F-Droid is an option, will have to look into that
@arstechnica knowing this, I can finally die peacefully

I earn a little from my books but not from my podcast or sharing my work online. People say my posts make them feel calm and that’s worth a lot to me. Surviving as a creative is increasingly hard. Non-AI writing takes time. (Only if you feel you can!) support me here: https://www.patreon.com/cw/MirandaKeeling
We've been on X/Twitter for many years, but it's time to reduce our activity there and instead promote Mastodon as our main social media channel now. So we've done just that: https://x.com/LibreOffice/status/2026204949760131158 – Welcome to all our new followers here 😊
I have to do a merge request review in Gitlab. Once more: Gitlab, not Github, and I have to review someone else's merge request. How do I do this, given that I use a screen reader? I have the MR page open, and there's a list of files, but I can't open a file. I can check out the MR in the project, but I don't know a way to easily view the changes the person made. I use VSCode, but I've never found it especially helpful for Git operations. Windows, NVDA, Cmd, VSCode. Thanks!

The last couple of days I spent working on the e-ink display code and hardware. It took longer than expected as my STM32F103 seems to have broken GPIO and the display datasheet was not very helpful either. In the end it took a bit of detective work to find the correct configuration, but I now have temperature and pressure displayed as well as a pressure graph .. #development #embedded
