How many macOS can you run.. top one is UTM running macOS 26.1, the other window is screen sharing to my other Mini which is runs the latest 26.x betas. All being run on M4 mini running 26.2. #macdev

@kylebshr Should I have to ask it though? It didn't even turn on outgoing network connections either. Things just failed with weird, unclear errors because of that and the fact the app was not authorized to use WeatherKit. Just saying people will file bugs saying the agent should take care of that stuff so it just works.

I can only imagine the onslaught of bugs Apple is going to get for Xcode 26.3 and the Agent stuff. “I asked for an app that uses WeatherKit but still had to search a bunch of stuff to get it to work after the agent wrote the code.”*

*You still have to go to Apple's dev site and add the app id and give it WeatherKit permissions and then add the capability in ‘Signing & Capabilities’ before it'll work.

@echoparallax years ago I had hundreds and hundreds of CDs in a square box with 4 inserts per page. The insert held the front paper and the CD and I threw out all the jewel boxes they came in. Developers, what’s the oldest one you’ve used professionally?

@dnorman clearly nobody even displays multiple windows on a single display. Guess which one has the focus without looking at the main menu. Way too subtle these days. At least they fixed the catalyst bug where the text entry cursor would still flash when a window didn't even have focus (mostly seen in Messages).

@stroughtonsmith the two things that usually cause that is not setting scrollview.hasVerticalScrolling to true and/or window.titlebarAppearsTransparent is true.

@sashk this happen reasonably often? After waking up your computer? In every column (assuming you have more than 1)? Do you hide or miniaturize your main window or change columns often? Just trying to get a sense of what might cause this.

@amyworrall worked here fine on 26.2 but will keep an eye out. Perhaps there's some way to activate the app that causes hide others to fail later?

@b3ll weird, just pasted 356k of text into Ivory compose window, select-all and no hang. It is a customized UITextView subclass with its own NSTextStorage subclass. I think it falls back to textkit 1 since it touches the layoutManager (if any of those details matter)
