@heiglandreas: No, I don't mean boilerplate and I mean "autocomplete" on an entirely different level than what early Cursor versions did. Auto-complete in the sense of "I write (or even speak) in plain text what software design I expect to solve a problem" and an LLM generates the code from these "thoughts". /cc @beberlei

@heiglandreas: I don't see that. Yes, "normal people" try out "vibe coding" and typically fail eventually with it. Sometimes, they will all be fed up, because no LLM will allow them to create a decently large/complex software and maintain it for them. But for us engineers it's an awesome tool coming up that can basically auto-complete code out of our brains (when we thought enough about how the code should be crafted). At least that is what I experience right now. /cc @beberlei

All of theses #XKCD 2347 extensions had no #BGP homage •hexhex• so #PhotoshopPhillipp did it

an the most extended version of xkcd 2347 but an aditional windmill at the side where DNS and fibelcable attakts are places ..

@vansari in meiner letzten Firma haben wir beim Wechsel auf lokales Kubernetes als Dev-Umgebung auf tilt.dev/ gesetzt. Das hat ziemlich gut funktioniert und kam bei den Entwicklenden sehr gut an.

By Dutch cartoonist Tjeerd Royaards

Cartoon showing a street in the rain. A man on a bike is delivering food, while another courier is delivering packages from Amazon. Two other workers are collecting garbage. Inside one of the houses on the street, we see robots labeled 'AI' sitting dry and warm, engaged in making a paining, playing the violin and writing.

RE: mastodon.functional.computer/@

One more example that people don't understand code. Code is a liability. Do not create just because you can.

@derickr yep, it’s the Enterprise D. At least, my normal box contained the bridge crew. The gift was an extra shuttle.

I just had the weirdest customer support experience: I realized I goofed in an online order last night so I went back to the site and filled out the contact form then noticed there was a.. phone number? and I called it and.. a human answered?? and they were actually at the business and not in a call center and got it sorted out immediately? 🤯 I'm still reeling

What if Mastodon had this button?

(I am not involved in core development. This isn't an official proposal. I'm just noodling about with ideas. Don't shout at me in the comments or get weird.)

Mock up of a Mastodon post. There's a a £ button next to boost. It offers the options to tip the suggested amount £0.15, or to tip a custom amount.

The two hardest problems in Computer Science are

1. Human communication
2. Getting people in tech to believe that human communication is important

Being the Centaur: Context Engineering for LLM Coding

In this post I describe a context-engineering workflow that treats LLMs as a code-generation layer instead of a decision-maker, and explain what “being the centaur” means in practice.
