It sounds like a small change that I2P could handle with a few tweaks.

π After an online conversation about the UK ID law and the Mississippi/ Bluesky block, I shared this; maybe you might find it helpful when trying to encourage folk to protect their privacy.

@TheBeal Maybe IronFox?
@scott Who has the encryption keys? WhatsApp isn't open source so they could take your keys and decrypt any message for themselves, police, government, etc.
@phaedral Perhaps this: https://www.privacyguides.org/

@knoppix95 It was curiosity in 1996 with a six CD set of Slackware. Today it's all of the above.
@smallcircles @thegibson I'm still waiting for someone to explain how it's much different than I2P.
@FranceskaMann @SnowyCA Feudalism was worse. Not that we can't do better than capitalism.
@remixtures It may be E2EE but who has the keys? Meta. They can decrypt for law enforcement and they have. Maybe they decrypt all of it. We can't prove they don't. We don't have access to the code.

Looking at the immediate effects of the #UK new #OnlineSafetyAct I canβt help wonder who, exactly, wanted this. Itβs an #infosec nightmare come to life, with massive damage being done to individual #safety, #privacy and #security.
No children will be safer by this, none. No citizen. Only those currently in power, when #anonymity is destroyed.
If the #EU persists in pushing for like legislation, the #Internet will truly have been destroyed, with all the economic value it holds.
This is no surprise, so the remaining question is βWho benefits?β, as always.
When I see people who aren't concerned about their data and #privacy in general, I get angry. Specially when they say, βI don't have anything to hideβ. It's like you have to have something to hide to care.
A regular website, these days, shares your data with 500+ other websites and data exchanges.
If your data weren't relevant to them, they wouldn't jump through hoops and try to find loopholes to steal your data.
Grow the fuck up and pull your head out of your ass before it's too late

@normplum No, because they can't block everything uBlock Origin can because it runs in the browser. It's better than nothing but your best bet is to switch to a browser that can run uBlock Origin.
