I've been back-to-back sick for literally months but today was the first day in a while that I felt well enough to have a drink, so I made myself a hot rum toddy with lime and honey. Reader: it was gooooood
Jack of all trades, master of pork ribs. Proud Bostonian.
I post about #gamedev, #ux, #cooking, and dumb life things.

@mattblaze There's soooo much money to be made out of keeping Trump et al the Big Bad that only the Heroes can save us from.
@mattblaze These people are deeply unserious. If I was so convinced that they were going to barrel ahead and try to nationalize the elections (or whatever the current crisis might be) I would also be very interested in *how* they might do that, and what the actual fallout might be.
Incidentally, I just got another fundraising email from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee titled "Midterms CANCELED?!"
@HailsandAles this is definitely the 1-seed-vs-16-seed match
@dave The Common Man diners are honestly some of the better restaurants I've eaten in in NH too
@tinker I mean, I already wear Carhartt and Dickies to my programming job... Why not?
@ErickaSimone @knizer You may also enjoy knowing that the Bob Ross YouTube channel does a weekly livestream called The Happy Little Weekend Marathon that's just back to back Joy of Painting episodes.
I need some #pottery help. I have this #ceramic cup that I pretty much exclusively use for beer. It's allegedly dishwasher safe. I just poured some hot water in it for tea, and rather quickly it started to feel sticky on the outside. If you look at it, there's a bunch of little brown spots coming out of the cracks in the glaze. Is this somehow beer that got into the ceramic and is coming out as the cup expands from the heat, or is there something else with the glaze I should be concerned about?
@rednikki Oh yah, and Peking Ravioli, which are jiaozi style dumplings.
@taylorlorenz Lots of people have said that the concept of federation is challenging to newbies, and I think that better migration tools (that allow you to discover *and* move to servers easily) is going to be critical to fixing that challenge. After that, we need to figure out a better way to communicate the incentives to being on particular instances. The big servers are actually helping but I share the hesitation to make them the default, so let's make it more obvious why you'd want to move.
@rednikki "Bang a youie" - make a u-turn
I was out until 1AM yesterday digging out my family's cars. I got into one of them to back it out of the giant drift that had formed around it, and Spotify started autoplaying when I turned the car on.
Sub-zero, by Action Bronson.
It's not a simulation, it's a video game, and Tim Schafer is the creative director.
For #TuneTuesday, the theme is #MyNameIs: songs with a person's name in the title.
This is "Alex Chilton" by The Replacements. The band was such a fan of Chilton's music that they wrote a song about him. Apparently the chorus is what the singer said to Chilton the first time he met him. He was so star struck he forgot the name of his favorite song.
There's part of me that thinks that dudes with snowblowers are peak masculinity. Walking around in brutal conditions, helping neighbors by casually throwing hundreds of pounds of snow with big loud machines.
Watched two cars spin out driving back and forth between Davis and Union Squares this morning. Be safe out there #Boston
Walking into Dunkin Donuts in the middle of a 2 foot snowstorm, ordering a "large iced black" in my thickest accent
