@Dienstag Thanks. He's been an outside friend of the family for quite a few years now. Sort of a garden buddy. And knows when it gets cold that I'll have a warm place waiting for him.
I don't know much.

Temps in the teens with lows in the single digits tonight. Set up the outside cat that's adopted me with a heated cardboard hole in the garage. Fed. Watered. Purring.
Fort Worth's Sycamore Community Park (est 1909) is getting $1 million for improvements. It's a nice park and this will make it better. But before it gets underway, I should probably hit it with the metal detector one last time.
In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his severely disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.
I wrote about Wael and how our caregivers are an extension of us.
Without them we can’t do basic activities of daily living.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
He didn’t even get to say goodbye to his father.
ICE caused his death & unnecessary suffering.
Now they’re refusing to allow Maher to attend the funeral.
Absolute ghouls.

The v4.0 firmware release for the Deus II is out. I'm waiting until I get the stereo headphones. Maybe 4.1 will be out by then.
@aap Disregard the nroff msg. I understand my mistakes on my end. And will stop pestering you. Today. :)
@aap Something is amiss w/ the nroff instructions. There is no nroff.7 or roff.7 on the nroff.tp image but the as cmd is shown as "# as nroff[1-5].s roff7.s nroff8.s".
If my feedback/pestering bothers you, I can stop.
@aap Yes! Latest update for sys.tp now works. Thank you. Having to re-create my devs since I changed my config differently, but I want my install to match yours.
Thanks for documenting your progress.
The original line of code in "mv" for the easter egg can be found in the Unix History Repo at https://github.com/dspinellis/unix-history-repo/blob/7cc1daf0b1ea315cef766bbb6f376054dbb51bc2/usr/source/s2/mv.c#L89
The mv easter egg is already present in Unix Fourth Edition (v4).
# mkdir foo.
# mv foo. bar
values of B will give rise to dom!
@aap Further investigation shows that sys.tp file seems to be corrupted or incomplete. Running strings against it doesn't show source code as it does with aap.tp.
@aap Love the updated Unix v4 docs! Thanks. The sys.tp file seems to be missing "conf/conf.c". It only contains 4 files.
Offspring brought home a Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie. No one liked it. So I'm eating the whole pie myself.

Sounds like a tape of Unix v4, 1973 has been found. No complete copies currently exist and this might change that.

These companies are obviously begging us to pirate content.

As the weeks and months roll by, I can't help but wonder if the protectionism that's sweeping over the world is the beginning of The Great Filter. We apes are continuing to prove we're unable to get along.
Jim Henson's "The Dark Crystal" (1982) is hitting limited theaters this weekend. Thinking about it...
