A loved one was hurt that I didn’t process their IMs with import. I realize that “shareable, focus read” has to hit me via email or else I consider it ephemeral.

@jonmsterling unreadable. My need for but what happens next hooked me all the way to the Moon and I regret it.

@sleepyfox this is one of my most favorite articles ever written. But I think it’s worth noting that in a code base where the theory of the program has been lost, this may be an efficacious way to regain it.

@moonglum isn’t GNU instructive to a third path here? Use the tools to scale the effort to enable escape?

It's always been annoying me that incrementing/decrementing numbers using ^A and ^X in does the wrong thing on version numbers if they are preceded by a `-`, treating them like negative numbers instead.

TIL `set nrformats+=unsigned` fixes that. 😃

@jonmsterling so newsdrawer — you have an old OSX system (physical? Emulated) running legacy UIs for these historical superior UI toolkits?

One of these will push you into an oubliette of self-hatred and self-harm from which few people ever financially or emotionally recover, and the other is heroin.

@davetron5000 raised on reruns and Rerun. I’ve been thinking this for 5 years and some mad genius just did it.

I’m moving to #neovim from #vim and have been surprised about the node_modules-ness of it all. To install telescope, it seems like I need 4-5 other plugins. Am I misreading? This seems like left-pad but make it editor. Am I doing it wrong?

@david_chisnall

100% agree…

But I do think some general guides are very considerate. “Here’s how to think about this thing, here are the big flows to startup; here’s something that never sat right with me…”

Because the void of bad documentation or cognitive tax is readily filled by ai (I’d argue that this has been a huge sales case to the tech.)

@bluejay I’m always struck by how much inefficiently used space is in that place for being on some of the most expensive real estate on earth.
