@lynn This species of bees (Apis dorsata) nest out in the open on single combed colonies. So what you are seeing here is one colony of honey bees (having a single queen) which is swarming out of its present nesting site and migrating elsewhere. In this case, the comb was built on a cliff face, but these bees can build combs on trees, buildings, bridges, etc.
