@jezlyn @PeterR I found one of these a couple years back and was sad to learn how the plastic had decomposed. Although nothing compared to the state of my Palm Foleo, which rotted into a giant piece of duct tape!

A wonderful and bittersweet day: Begin is joining Sanity (sanity.io): https://www.sanity.io/blog/welcoming-the-begin-team-to-sanity
Our post: https://begin.com/blog/posts/2024-10-23-sunsetting-begin
Feeling immense gratitude for the team we built, the customers that invested in building their apps and systems with the tools we created, the investors who supported us through thick and thin, and for the folks at Sanity with whom we'll journey onward. ๐
@mathowie well, speed climbing specifically; they are not exactly well represented in lead or boulder
@macdonst literally used a big chunk of my day to repair some dead cupboard LED lighting ๐
@brianleroux donโt forget denial, perhaps the most common reaction ๐
Stoked to be speaking alongside some truly rad folks today at Moar Serverless! https://cfe.dev/events/moar-serverless-2024/
Catch my talk about https://aws-lite.org at 12:25 PT / 15:25 ET

@mathowie yeah we moved there in 2022! Come ride or climb sometime! ๐ซถ๐ผ
@mathowie lives in my hood, see him on the trails, heโs truly something else ๐
It is truly bizarre how wide the range of applications in the world of computing turn-it-off-and-turn-it-back-on-again has.
I'm reasonably convinced that if a necessary, world-changing AGI ever does run amok, the best solution will be to just reset its metaphorical router.
@mikeal @brianleroux totally!
Allowed: deprecating a project
Also allowed: letting folks know you'll be terminating maintenance so they can make plans
Also allowed: putting a call out to the community to find new maintainers who may want to take over the project
Also allowed: actually linking to the other "successful forked versions"
Not allowed: how they went about this ๐ซ
@dch @brianleroux @macdonst absolutely. (Not that I will claim my code is "great", though. ๐)
It also helps to have a clear and differentiated focus: aws-lite's is to be super fast Node.js + easy for devs to use (semantics, errors, docs). AWS's is types, browser compat, etc.
