@pattykimura yeah, and i've always found the struggle of getting the right lyric to fit a rhythm/melody is 1) very difficult, and 2) makes it better. but you have to do the struggle, and you know when you're taking a shortcut (i too have taken shortcuts lol)

@Andres4NY there's an internet fandom thing that fans shouldn't be critics, and i reject that. "it's just music", "it's just a movie", "it's just a TV show" yeah, people can do whatever they want, but if a piece of art is worth anything, we should engage with it critically. (also, lots of things i wrote when i was 21 are also terrible, i'm sure he has a few things he would change if he could)
