I personally thought just a few years ago that the time of both colonialism and fossil fuel extraction would be coming to its end. I was wrong. It was wishful thinking, a common cognitive bias.

Thanx you for your attention to this matter!

Now decolonization has turned into recolonization. Imperialism, colonialism and oppression of smaller nations is not only accepted in the US but seen as the right thing to do. The U.S. example is going to encourage others to go ahead by the same principle. I hope Europe will not take part in this tragedy that much.

Next in line is Greenland, which is part of Denmark, a founding member of Nato. Also here the U.S. is talking about national security concerns, but their real interest in Greenland is obviously driven by mineral resources and/or territorial ambitions. The US also seems to want to colonize Canada, which, like its big bully neighbour, already is largely built on the basis of colonialist resource extraction and oppression of indigenous peoples.

Colonialism is largely about extraction of resources from other countries to enrich one’s own nation and its ruling elite. The U.S. government has quite openly admitted that what they want from Venezuela is their oil. We can see that the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro is not really about drug trafficking, which is the official reason, but regime change to make business, especially to make use of Venezuelan oil. (I wonder what the Bunker Goblin of the Kremlin thinks about this.)

In this, the US is joining Russia and China. Of these two colonial powers, China never decolonized. While itself being partly a colonized country it started to colonize Xinjiang and Tibet around 1950. Russia, on the other hand, lost some of its colonies in the dissolution of the Soviet Union, but now it's trying hard to get at least some of them back.

For more than 200 years, from the American revolution up until the handovers of Hong Kong and Macau to China, the general trend in western countries was towards decolonization. Now this has changed. The US is not concealing their intention to be a colonial power.

Imperialism means colonialism and colonialism means oppression. Welcome to a new wave of colonialism!

That's where we are now after the United States revised their security doctrine and attacked Venezuela.

I wish Father Christmas a.k.a. Santa Claus will also bring me a visa ban to the u.s. Then I would know I have been good.

The U.S. resembles authoritarian China more and more each day: Now official statistics about the economy have turned fictional.

Or, as you can say: "The lack of detail and the absence of data collection during the shutdown introduce a degree of skepticism".

Zelenskyi speaks beautifully about Europe and points out that Europe has actually achieved a lot of things during the Russian aggression.

For example:

"Europe has demilitarized Russia’s gas weapon – the continent no longer lets Moscow manipulate it with energy. And this is a historic achievement to my mind– something that just a few years ago seemed almost impossible", says Zelenskyi in his speech to European leaders.
