@MattHatton pee if I’m in polite company. Piss if it’s too urgent to care.
@jap @fnwbr @kodamachameleon @thedarktangent yeah fuck that
@nazokiyoubinbou @djlink depends on what NAND is being used. SSDs are targeting maximum capacity so each NAND cell stores multiple bits. The thresholds between adjacent bits gets narrower and as the cells drift with age you can start getting errors. A powered drive refreshes cells in the background. USB flash drives are using older processes and simpler NAND so the longevity will likely be better. I still would not recommend them for long term storage though.
@YearProgress god damn it I’m not ready for this
@KC8JC I tried, I couldn’t get a reliable ARDOP connection. So I went with Vara 😢
Am I missing something or is this a ridiculous amount of dog-whistling from the NSW Premier?
@MartinRost @kudra #meshcore certainly seems like a significant improvement on #meshtastic. They are only promises, time will tell. #meshcore has a “first byte collision” problem when trying to perform traceroutes, which is an annoyance that will rapidly become more common. Doesn’t affect normal packet routing thankfully.
#reticulum seems like the ultimate solution technically but it might be a betamax vs VHS situation - meshcore is easier and will prevail if it’s “good enough”.
My first companion node should be here any time now…. C’mon *refreshes tracking details* (I’ll be on meshcore)
@finn optical or mechanical?
@stephanie “we’re sacking a bunch of people, please make it sound like we care about them”
@monkeyborg @SRLevine you mean a C-level version of this genius?
@devopscats well don’t just stand there filming, pour that cat a beer! I’m sure it’s been a week
@mothninja @TwoClownsEating @TheBreadmonkey “well I believe I’ve already seen the worst of you, so tell me about your positive attributes”
@theorangetheme @brohrer I feel the same way about taking my car back to a mechanic who’s made a mistake.
Absolutely the fuck not, just to be clear.
@Heliograph I walked out of work and went “ooh steamy”. Then I got home, it rained a bit, and it got more steamy.
@finn we’ve always been at war with Eurasia
@nacho_borracho IKEA model. Walk past everything.
@madengineering @sophie @mindpersephone DMA’s good for large blocks of data. How do you propose the CPU would know when the user has pressed a key, if using DMA?
