A large sponge, a cluster of anemones, and other life is seen nearly 230 meters deep at an area of the seabed that was very recently covered by the George VI Ice Shelf in Antarctica. Sponges can grow very slowly, sometimes less than two centimeters a year, so the size of this specimen suggests this community has been active for decades, perhaps even hundreds of years.

It's almost as if Bluesky was a Silicon Valley VC-funded startup, with Blockchain Capital among its biggest investors, and thus has to make "difficult decisions" to get that hockey-stick growth and chase the ROI.

I just found this photo I took when we were getting ready to move the pineapple plants indoors for the winter several weeks ago. This plant had two "residents" who had to be persuaded to evacuate the premises. It was either that, or spend days chasing frogs around the house after we moved the plants inside.
