Whenever I try reading up on how Matrix as a protocol works at a practical level it just strikes me as way overly complicated in the same way as when I try figuring out how most crypto currency bullshit actually works. Everyone involved are so lost in the sauce that the docs end up practically incomprehensible

I looked into Matrix waaay back when I spun up introvert social and wrote it off as too high maintenance for admins AND too high friction for users. Looking into it again because of Discord I can see that Matrix is uuuh well still kind of shit apparently, amazing
