Nintendo Switch Sports golf is a real gem playing online. Although having real golf technique won’t help you none, really.

@Talia @carnage4life Not necessarily. Growth could stop for some other reason, while AI push it up to continue a historical trend — dynamically stable, rather than making no difference. I’m not saying that’s what I believe, just that it’s a possibility.

A close family member died recently. If I wanted experiential proof that every customer touchpoint is an opportunity for loyalty, dealing with a bereavement provides it.

Gold stars for Starling Bank, American Express, Hastings Direct. Terrible experiences with Barclays Bank, Zopa Bank, E.ON Energy, Post Office Insurance.

When exactly did we start to think that the point of humans was to be productive, instead of thinking that the point of productivity was to take care of humans?

@carnage4life It’s a funny one. Certainly, some tasks are faster or even better leveraging AI. Lots of experimentation, some successful and some not. But the overall “getting value to market” end-to-end productivity? Little or no difference at the moment. I think as organisations and practices co-evolve we will see it though.

@Philsturgeon Have £20 from me, good luck raising the money needed! You’re doing excellent work.

The Manics’ magnum opus is The Holy Bible and I’ll brook no dissent on this point. It’s the sound of losing your mind and is full attack medicine for shitty days at work.

Turns out people who know struggle are far, far more generous than the rich. Plus MacKenzie Scott out there showing everyone else how it should be done. If I had billions, believe me, our family would have deployed half of it already, as we already did: blog.codinghorror.com/launchin

Posit: Community is based on reciprocity. If you live in a group, then—within reason—you must contribute to the group in order to receive things from the group. Contribution and benefit needn’t be equal in weight at an individual level, since each person differs in their ability and need, but its presence in some form IS the social contract. Reciprocity turns parasitical if one can contribute but doesn’t, because it breaks the social contract of the group.

Right? Wrong? Partially right?

@grumpygamer 100% this. I have a similar losing battle with WhatsApp.

I can't lie — Claude is incredibly fun to vibe code with. I'm building a receipts renaming function to help me save time processing receipts for my company's (very terrible) expenses system.

I think AI is an appropriate label for what the capability is today. The goalposts do indeed keep moving on what “artificial intelligence” is. But if you have to give LLMs an education, a grounding, an ethics; keep it from generating bad outcomes; and if it can continuously keep generating output and learning from its generated output; and the entity is wholly manufactured though human efforts — then I do believe that the term is valid.
