West Side Love Story by Priscilla Oliveras has been on my tbr for over a year now, and I am hoping to read it this year. The synopsis make this seem like a Hispanic version of Romeo and Juliet, and it immediately intrigued me.

The Austen Affair by Madeline Bell is a recent addition to my tbr, but the synopsis sounds so intriguing and I can’t wait to see how it goes.

Six Summers to Fall will be the second book that I read from C.W. Farnsworth, and I am hoping it is as good as Left Field Love.

I started the We Were Liars series by E. Lockhart last year, and loved the books I’ve read so far. We Fell Apart is the latest novel for this series. Although it seems like this book focuses on new characters, I can not wait to read it.

I always find it interesting when celebrities write books, and that is what led me to want to read Gone Before Goodbye by Harlan Coben and Reese Witherspoon.

Freida McFadden’s Never Lie is the book that got me back into reading as an adult, so I hope to read few more of her books this year, including her newest release The Intruder. This book’s description gave me the chills just reading that the story takes place in an isolated cabin.

I am currently reading and listening to All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace. In the beginning it took me a bit of time to get into it. But I’m currently on chapter 9 and was able to immerse myself into the book, and can not wait to see what happens next.

Although this book has not shown much romance, the chemistry between Amora and Bastian is subtle but there. I find Ferrick as a comical relief during chapter 9, and hope his character develops more. I also hope to see what Ferrick and Amora’s relationship is like since it seems to be a little strained right now.

The Poppy War series by R.F. Kuang is one of the series I want to read this year. I have read Kuang’s Yellowface and Katabasis, and enjoyed both books. I’ve hear good things about this series and want to read her debut books.

The Shepherd King duology by Rachel Gillig was on my 2025 tbr and I was not able to read, so I am hoping I can read this year. I am hoping that this romantasy lives up to it’s hype.

I first heard about The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black on TT, and it was promoted as enemies to lovers. However, some reviews have said that romance is not the main focus of the book, and I feel more intrigued to read it now.

My favorite 5-star book of 2025 is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.

I read this book in February and found myself thinking of it throughout 2025. The sisterly relationship between Vianne and Isabelle was such a rollercoaster that was only intensified by the WWII events. The individual struggle each sister had to face was so heartbreaking, and their endurance was so inspiring.

Overall, this book was an amazing read, and I would 100% recommend this book. Since this book deals with heavier topics looking up trigger warnings is encouraged.

The Belladonna series by Adalyn Grace is my favorite completed fantasy series of 2025. Although there are other great fantasy series that I read this year, like Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber, this is the one that held an extra special place in my heart this year.

I did start this series in December 2024 with Belladonna, and I completed the trilogy with the next two books, Foxglove and Wisteria, in January 2025. I am hoping to finish reading Holly, the holiday special this month.

Ann Liang, R.F. Kuang and Kristen Ciccarelli are some authors that I discovered this year and I can not wait to read more of their books in 2026.

Ann Liang has other young adult romance books that I am looking forward to reading, such as I Am Not Jessica Chen and I Hope This Doesn’t Find You series.

I have heard a lot about R.F. Kuang’s The Poppy War trilogy and I hope to read it next year.

Kristen Ciccarelli’s series Iskari sounds interesting and I also hope to read it next year.

This has been a very busy month and I did not have much down time to read. However, I was able to finish a few books that have been on my tbr! Overall, I am satisfied with this month’s completed read.

Family of Liars by E. Lockhart was a fast read for me and I enjoyed it a lot. I was so glad to be able to get a backstory on the mom’s of the Liars. Their backstory gave a big insight into how their adult life and situations came to be.

Salvacion by Sandra Proudman dragged a bit for me. However, once I started listening to the audiobook, I was able to get through it faster. This book had a lot of cultural references, however, some of those parts felt rushed. Overall, it was a good read.

For the last month of the year, I am trying to finish as many of this year’s tbr as possible.

A McClendon Thanksgiving by Sean D. Young was last month’s book club’s read, and I need to finish for book club.

Set on You by Amy Lea is book from my February’s tbr and it seems to be a lighthearted romance.

Holly by Adalyn Grace is a Belladonna novella, which is one of my favorite series from this year. It is also the only Christmas theme book on this month’s tbr.

I am currently reading Salvacion by Sandra Proudman, and I am hoping to finish it soon.

Although I only read one of my November's tbr, I enjoyed reading the other two books.

I was able to finish We Were Liars by E. Lockhart in the beginning of November and I really enjoyed it. This book was so easy to follow along and kept me interested. The plot twist was a bit predictable, but the full details managed to surprised me.

I was so excited to read Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer and it did not disappoint. The tension between Evie and The Villain continues to be very intense. The plot twist in the end made me have to rethink everything I’ve read in the past two books, and realize I’ve missed a lot of clues. I can’t wait for the next and final, possibly, book to come out!

Overall, Katabasis by R.F. Kuang was a good book. However, the way my brain could not comprehend some of the more complex ideas in the book was a bit humbling. But after more effort, and a few rereads, I was able to understand most of the book. I definitely could not have been able to get through this book without the audibook.

I, Medusa by Ayana Gray will be released on November 18th. This is a retelling of Medusas’ story. According to the summary, the story begins when Meddy is noticed by Athena and asked to train as a priestess in her temple. I can’t wait to read this retelling of an iconic Greek mythology.

All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace is a fantasy that contains soul magic, pirates, and mermaids. I love Adalyn Grace’s Belladonna series, so I am excited to see what this book has in store.

Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer is a book that I have been anticipating since last year when I read the first two books. I began reading it on November 1st, and I am so excited to see that there is a new special pov. I can’t wait to see what develops between the Villain and Evie.

Salvacion by Sandra Proudman is a YA fantasy that contains a masked heroine that is trying to break free from societal restraints while donning a mask and acting as a vigilante at night. This book seems to be full of Latin culture and unavoidably falling for the enemy.

These are my reads for October.

Reading The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes again gave me a chance to notice things that I missed the first time. Just like the first time I read this book, the chemistry between Rohan and Savannah and Grayson and Lyra was great. But I was able to see a lot more in the little moments between characters because I already knew the plot. Overall, this was a good refresher before reading the newest book.

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix was two star read for me because the gruesome body horror was too much for me. I did like that he wrote about topics, such as misconceptions about housewives and the ‘simplicity’ of their roles.

Glorious Rivals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes was such a great continuation to Grayson and Lyra’s story. The development between Rohan and Savannah was also amazing. However, Gigi’s character development was my favorite part. I love how she is known as a bubbly person, but deep down, she always feels inferior to her twin sister, and her bubbly personality is just a way to distract others from this. This is such a contrast to Savannah’s cold exterior that hides her own insecurities. I can't wait to read the next book!

I re-read Assistant to the Villain and Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer and loved it as much as the first time. I can't wait to read the newest book in the series, Accomplice to the Villain in November.

I am currently re-reading the second book of the Assistant to the Villain series by Hannah Nicole Maehrer to refresh my memory before I read the new book in the series, Accomplice to the Villain.

I have been anticipating the third book and can not wait to dive back into this world. I can not wait to see the relationship between The Villain and Evie develop. But I am mostly looking forward to reading more on Kingsley and, hopefully, and his backstory.
