In case you think African countries are generally behind, here is a strong counter example: Uganda has banned Facebook 🙂 (That book radicalized me a little about Meta: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Careless)

@dlx What is this dark (in fact white) magic?

@dlx I'm very perturbated by the fact that the mouth of your little avatar is way whiter than the rest of my screen. How come? Screenshotting it does not show it, but my phone camera sees it too:

And the site of the conference, if you're curious: web-eur.cvent.com/event/bddb09

For reasons that are quite obvious, the last year has been focused on improving what can be done with diminishing resources in public health and we'll keep focusing on that.

I'm here for a conference on Malaria prevention campaigns, using bed nets and seasonal malaria chemoprevention.

These are widely considered as the most impactful interventions in health today and I'm proud that we are working in this field. givewell.org/charities/top-cha

Hello from Uganda, the 31st most populated country in the world, with a population of 50 million and $45 spent per capita on health care (to give a reference, the USA are spending $13,473 and Belgium $5,931).

One positive note on a new Mac: no need to have a cloud account to set it up.

The best things about my Taekwondo courses for me are
- that there is a place where I'm not the expert/senior and can be "just" one student.
- there is a group of people very different from me and way younger than me that are making me feel like a peer. This is lovely.
- finally being allowed to kick people ;-)

@kemar This is a bit too Playmobil for me and I would have like the same corner radii for all windows too. This is ugly.

Just listened to a marketing podcast and I was surprised by how casually the participants admitted to doing illegal stuff like undisclosed paid content.

@mestachs Agreed, it's interesting! Look at Egypt or Niger for other interesting ones.
