@codemonkeymike @system76 Same. PLEASE send them a hearty hello from me.
@codemonkeymike @system76 You should stop in and see them!
AliExpress reaching out about a paid collaboration wasn't on my "YouTube Creator Bingo Card" today. Not quite sure how to feel about that...
Borderlands 4 is finally Steam Deck Verified! But Gearbox did us dirty...

I always held this belief that having some kind of "shock face" (or any face whatsoever) on a YouTube thumbnail was critical to views. And I think that's been the conventional wisdom, right?
Well, I ran an A/B test for my latest benchmarking video.
When shown the version with my silly face, 43% of people chose to watch. When shown the version without, 57% of people chose to watch.
GOOD. I dislike posing for these dumb shots anyway :)
@danyork YUP. Besides the satisfaction of real ownership, one of the main reasons I prefer owning physical media for my favorite shows is: music! Scrubs is a good example, but there are others. For streaming, TONS of the original music that aired with the episodes has been replaced because licenses ran out. And it's just not the same, you know?
@danyork I think it's on HBO Max and Hulu, but it's also on my Plex server courtesy of my Mom's DVD collection :)
If you've been enjoying The Pitt but never watched ER, go track it down. I caught a few episodes here and there when it originally aired more than 30 years ago, but I'm finally watching it all.
Despite the pilot being a masterclass in character development and world-building, holy crap this show pulled no punches (at least so far) when it came to social commentary and complex moral dilemmas.
@andrewbriscoe @elaterite I swear that at some point, the general population got the impression those damn poop bags are fully biodegradable and so decided to just "let nature take its course."

Well, I THOUGHT I had my 3 "handheld indie gems" picked out for the month of January, but then @gamingonlinux had to go and mention Hyperslice. DAMNIT LIAM! This game is addicting! https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2026/02/hyperslice-is-a-fast-focused-and-extremely-fun-action-arena-roguelite/
@wiredfire Holy crap, there's a fourth coming out this year!? I read the first two in the series. Gotta say the first was exemplary. An absolutely epic read.
@darth Indeed! And I'm pretty sure they all will fit into that profile. The big question is: will they all play at 4K/60 with FSR on Balanced or Performance?
@darth No, I'm on Bazzite. It's not "Apples to Apples" at all. Just a reference point.
@Ttauket I saw that this morning! Definitely good news.
@bisby Whereas I'm painfully aware that I'll become increasingly obsessed 🤣
@Ttauket OK, promise.
@darth Here's VRAM usage on my machine, running the benchmark at 1080p/Ultra, with FSR disabled. Granted, this is the RTX 4070 Super, but it's using 7.3GB of VRAM.
@darth I feel like CP2077 should be using way more than 4.5GB of VRAM at 1080p Ultra.
