Slowed down the 3d print of the Flex PLA to... very very slow. Seems to be working much better, although a 2h print has gone to 14h...

Always nice to spend a nice relaxing teatime removing flexible PLA out of a feeder, having completely failed to print the huge 3d print job I left running when I went out to work. Le sigh.
I keep seeing lots of posts with guillotines.
I'm going to register my disgust here. I'm firmly against capital punishment in all forms and without exception.
It's sick, and so are you if you're effectively in a lynch mob.
I don't make it into the office much any more (and I don't need to really be here), so there's always quite a turnover of staff every time I come across and I only really know folk from dealings on Slack.
And I'm really going to have to stop going into meetings and saying "Ahhh Mr X, we meet at last!" On reflection, it's probably quite creepy.
A female OpenAI executive who raised concerns about the upcoming ‘Adult Mode’ - which lets you sex ChatGPT girlfriends - has been fired for ‘sexual discrimination against men’
@bomkatt Very much recommended. I scale, but sooner or later I run out of bandwidth, like Hooke's law giving over to yield strength.
(I am mixing metaphors, whatever 🫣)
While on lunch today I discovered this, a really quite good potted history of #TOTP - including what engendered it, and the changes in direction.

Good read for my #TOTP family.
I have just used the phrase "There is a finite amount of Jess" in a planning meeting. Occasionally people need reminding, it seems.
@charmedlassie I find that reassuring and unnerving in equal parts.
@charmedlassie I'm obviously not trying hard enough.
Was quite refreshing getting up Garrowby Hill this morning without the engine light coming on.
Huh, just discovered my van tracker has a web hook system in it. Excellent!
@pete Oh that's quite good 😄
"There's only a finite amount of Jess" has been my favourite phrase today. I might be close to burnout again, this is not good.
ngl it'd be funny as hell if a massive chat provider was abandoned in favour of ten thousand fedi weirdos running Prosody servers on used pregnancy tests
@gsuberland please stop
@astrid AAAAA - the screaming continues
Eldest's birthday, took them to Ikea for some new furniture followed by fish and chips at a restaurant. Didn't sing Happy Birthday (cos they hate the fuss) but definitely had a good day.
Scratched my glasses. Told the wife I don't know how. It was trying to get the last dregs out of a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle, and the rim scuffed my lens. £130 repair. Lesson: Don't rim bad boys.
