Ondertussen ook nieuws van Patreon ontvangen: we mogen 'gewoon' nullen invoeren en verwijzen naar een mailtje dat we hebben gehad, daarna zorgt Patreon zelf voor interne verwerking voor internationale partijen die zoals in ons geval wel KVK hebben maar geen BTW hoeven af te dragen. Opvallend was wel dat 1 van de Patreons meldde dat er standaard 21% BTW werd gerekend...

@ruud Okay, dank voor het delen. Ik zag eind 2023 een video van Jack Conte waarin hij uitlegde dat er steeds meer eisen naar Patreon komen, blijkbaar kan dit dus een gevolg zijn. Wel goed om voor te bereiden - we zagen een fixed 30% inkomsten afdracht via een specifieke constructie die zo nodig is voor buitenlandse partijen. Wil je een linkje?

@ruud ik heb een vraagje, met een stichting waar ik actief ben kregen we een bericht over Patreon en de vraag of we een BTW nummer konden aandragen. Heb jij voor mastodon.world ook dit verzoek gehad? Hoe lossen jullie dit op? Onze stichting heeft geen BTW nummer op dit moment.

@ruud that one with the beasties - must have been legendary. Never pushed for going to the Beastie Boys concerts unfortunately as most of my friends were not into these music styles. My taste is *very* broad so there was little overlap between friends and music taste.

@winkleink @bob_zim my master degree thesis was about appstores. It yielded a fairly relevant paper. The walled garden approach to ensure quality experiences is the main driver at the start. UX is king in Apple world. When the full potential of the app store became apparent and 30% transaction fees were only booed by devs, they kept the doors tightly shut for functionality iOS only.

@brucelawson thanks for bringing this to our attention. How much I hope that EU representatives have iDevices and now will face defunct software if this is allowed. It finally show the battles also for software engineers and devs that have many requests to 'just build an app/PWA cross platform'. The hours I spent as a Business Analyst trying to explain to business owners that their simple iDevice does have an evil OS design on purpose...

Update: As many have pointed out, you *can* use @thunderbird as an RSS feed reader, and there are many #firefox add-ons to restore the RSS indicator (one of which I'm already using). But my point is that Firefox needs to lean into RSS as an answer to all the crap that is the modern web, and help educate users about it
