Like many other computer graphics people, I always liked fractals. Drawing a Mandelbrot set is one of the first things I do in any new programming language.
Last night I suddenly remembered one #fractal generator I never implemented! Iterated function systems. So I finally did! I think it is very nice to look at and is related to the wonderfully named Collage Theorem :)

I am sad to report that the recently viral German numbers as low-discrepancy sequence does not generalize too well 😔 After 100, you get kinda sparse repeating structures. I guess, that is to be expected, but would have been fun if it was different...

Saw a tweet over on the hellsite about a small arkanoid adjacent coding project, where two balls are assigned colors, move around and flip hit tiles to that color. Continued my idea from yesterday. Explanations about #math (here the dot product) concise with explanations and diagrams for #gamedev s starting out who do not come from a math background. Today: Interactive diagrams + calculations for angles, halfspaces, projection and decomposition. So tomorrow probably styling, unified names and maybe the text. For every operation, I want to add a few applications in text. For example vision cones or race-track completion :) #teaching

I had a small idea today. I am not a gamedev myself, but have seen/talked to folks without a math background confused about vector stuff. So I thought, why not show some applications with the math condensed for common tasks. Especially various dot product applications. Probably already exists somewhere, but it is a fun thing to make lol. I'm *not* doing this to get new followers. You DON'T need to follow me to get a key. This is about generosity when the world could really use some.

19/12/24: In what turned out to be a poorly timed decision, I bought a bundle of games and added them to the list today. Happy holidays.

To avoid keyfarmers and resellers, I have some guidelines, though.

1. No new accounts. Sorry. You've got to have been here on Mastodon & obviously human; ie. no keyfarmers (If I don't know you, I'm checking profiles).

2. One game per person; please pick your top three preferred games, in case your first preference is already gone. First in, first served, I go through PMs in the order that they're received - see below.

3. *Private Mention* me with the game number *AND* name, in order of preference. (Web: Profile > Three Dots > Privately Mention...), your app may vary.

I cannot reiterate this enough. You *must* -->PM<-- your request (consider this the "Brown M&Ms" clause).

4. "When can I ask for another key?" Minimum of 2 months between requests.
