I requested 2 books at the library to be purchased. A translated Ukrainian classic based on Greek mythology, and a modern recount of war.

Only second got approved for purchase, same publisher.

As much as I am happy about the library approving a purchase of a book by any Ukrainian author, it points out that institutions bear responsibility for how we perceive different topics

Of course Ukraine will always be a "war-torn country" while russian "classics" have a 20 purchased copies each

Yesterday I had more playing sessions with him than usual, and gave him a treat he loves. He, in turn, jumped up on me for the first time ever and without any typical cat hesitation just laid down in cuddle position. Didn't even move when I had to adjust. He knew what he was doing.

I know that I can not allow myself to dissociate from evil people with horrible worldviews because that ends up costing my freedom and safety, but I will set boundaries and specific times for engaging with it.

I don't have a therapist to dump raw emotions on them anymore, so limited exposure is a necessity.

I find it annoying that as soon a new fashion trend that has traditional roots emerges in Ukraine, russian women immediately jump on the bandwagon.

They then say it is russian. Many dumb westerners, who don't see the problem with engaging with "regular russians, who didn't start the war" (or whatever bullshit it is now" then take that at face value and start promoting a new "russian fashion trend".

I think moving to Indianapolis was perfect for me, because I love people watching, but I don't like people. But Indy has a great amount of wild animals in the city. So it's like people watching without the people... I never get bored sitting by my window.

About 50 commissions is my minimum financial goal for this year. All the animals in the picture were sold except one cat.

Frankly, the price is a huge step back for me professionally. Some people come up and say it's too much - which is just blasphemous, and others think it's a print because it is so cheap. But I make it affordable because I really need the money, and it seems to work for fairs and markets.
