A friendly reminder that not declaring your exports in one place results in having to scan the entire file to observe if something is exported. #javascript

I love how in the Next.js "Create Your First App" docs TypeScript is the last thing you learn.

Sidecar worked great with my #iPadPro but now I feel like returning it because the signal drops off repeatedly in the middle of working. Never had these problems with third party apps.

Any ideas how to fix a constantly dropping connection even when the iPad is connected to same WiFi and over USB-C Thunderbolt #Apple approved cable?

@admitsWrongIfProven Ugh, yeah don't work with such toxic people. There are plenty of recruiters out there good at their job.

2023-02-17

@admitsWrongIfProven Transparency is everything. I'm not interested if they withhold the employer.

2023-02-17

@admitsWrongIfProven Just worked with a recruiter who reached to me after reading my LinkedIn and clicking on links to get to know a little about me, then scheduled a call to see if they had any opportunities that aligned with my expectations. Could be done async too. This is the way.

I just had a recruiter cold call me about a job. This is not how recruiters should build trust.

Here's a screenshot of my personal website from 2006. I may go back to this quirky style at some point.

@slimepsychic yeah that's been doing on for a few years at least with the BYO device part.

Here's an old experiment with some crude first-person controls in a 3D landscape.

I have some really old portfolio sites that I could deploy too, I bet they still work.

I'm applying to a job that needs WebGL experience so I redeployed a legacy version of my personal website which uses Three.js.

This site used Famous Angular, a custom GLSL shader that I open sourced and was used in at least one indie movie for special effects.

Check it out for yourself.

Why did I pass up listening to Mogwai all these years?

In the near future it's going to look extremely foolish for companies to lease so much office space (if it doesn't already). In the short term jobs will be lost, but long term offices.

The fear is we are entering a whole new way of exploiting remote workers. Companies will always find a way.

@sirber Oh, carry on then. Very nice.

2023-02-14

@sirber Why no #vscode? If it’s a M1 or M2 Mac should be good.

2023-02-14

@zachleat yeah it’s not like that at every company but been my experience where there’s a lot of Java in the stack. 😑 hoping not to contend with this in my next role.
