China is the main investor for soybeans grown in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. Cattle ranches in the Amazon rainforest sell beef to many fast food companies, including McDonald's and Burger King.
Hundreds of acres/hectares of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil is illegally cleared to establish soybeans farms and cattle ranches. Indigenous communities, inlcuding uncontacted tribes, are displaced and forced off of their lands by hired groups, or by law enforcement. Illegal mining and logging is occurring across the Amazon rainforest, especially in areas that are protected by law.

In the Navajo-Diné culture, an infant who has died is considered the holiest, especially when their feet has not touched the earth. Mothers have to go through a ceremony if they have stillborns. Navajo-Diné elders teach our people that we are not supposed to be afraid of death, because it will come for all of us eventually. The Twins still sit at the water's edge in the First World, waiting to greet us. In the old days, people prayed for old age. It was a blessing to grow old and die.
