πβοΈ Iβve bought this little book to try and educate myself on the different types of cloud formations.
@MarianneTiel Thank you Marianne, whatβs making me unsure is that the distribution map shows the Pied Avocet as being quite rare in the area where I live. It hasnβt popped up before on my walks and Iβve been walking in the same place nearly every day since June 2025. Is it common where you live?
π¦ The call of a Pied Avocet was identified by the Merlin Bird app when I was on my walk by the river this morning.
I havenβt added it to my list of bird calls heard today as yet as Iβm investigating whether itβs possible!
