We are pleased to announce a new release of https://BRC-Analytics.org (v0.20.0). This release updates the number of included organisms to 1900+ with 5000+ assemblies, and over 400 assemblies getting gene track data mirrored from VEuPathDB.org. (1/3)
The Galaxy Project powers global life sciences analytics by turning the world’s most advanced cyberinfrastructure into a free, browser-based analysis platform for everyone. With hundreds of thousands of users running millions of jobs using thousands of tools and workflows—no installs, no clusters required—Galaxy breaks down technical and economic barriers that traditionally limit data-driven discovery.

The JXTX Foundation will provide support to 3 outstanding graduate students in genomics and data sciences to attend the Biology of Genomes meeting at CSHL (meetings.cshl.edu). The deadline is Jan 31 and just takes a short bio and abstract: https://gxy.io/jxtxbog26
We’re excited to announce Rayan Chikhi (Institut Pasteur, France) as the Keynote Speaker at GCC2026.
In his keynote, Rayan will take us from genome assembly to petabase-scale exploration of public sequencing data, showing how large-scale indexing and k-mer–based approaches are opening the door to discoveries like new viruses and plastic-degrading enzymes.

🧬 Learn how to go from genomic regions to gene annotations in Galaxy!
The From Peaks to Genes tutorial introduces core Galaxy concepts while walking through a realistic ChIP-seq use case: turning genomic peak regions into candidate target genes. Along the way, you’ll learn data import, interval operations, workflow creation, visualization, and sharing for reproducible analysis.
🎓 GCC2026 Fellowships are now open!
We’re offering multiple fellowship opportunities to support early-career researchers and new Galaxy users attending Galaxy Community Conference 2026 in France.
Funding is available through the JXTX Foundation, JJ Fund, and the Galaxy Community Fund, with support for registration, travel, and virtual attendance — all via one application.
