@aronow I can't help but imagine if one of those blinds opened and someone saw you, they might say "There's Jenna again, being sarcastic" or "Should we help her, or is she doing something for that site again?" πŸ˜†

@vale maybe because z is the last letter of the alphabet? Or you are so used to seeing z-index last it feels wrong when it's somewhere else.

@ironicbadger my apologies, I didn't check to see if there were other postings for the same opening.

@ironicbadger when anyone goes to apply for this role it says "Please note, you must reside in the United States to be considered for this position. We are not currently providing relocation support for this role." and "Please note, you must legally be able to work in the United States to be considered for this position. We are not currently able to provide immigration support for this role. "

Do you know someone who can change it on the site to reflect that someone can be in Canada or the UK?

@TheBreadmonkey I completely agree. This reminds me of a post that you posted in August of 2025, that in part goes,

"Over on Fedi Island, a couple of neighbours have disagreed on whether coffee or tea is supreme, but they've realised it's subjective and decided to respect each others perspectives and have got together to throw a little party to celebrate both coffee and tea enjoyers.... The wildlife of course not for food, but to assist in identifying edible plants and mushrooms and verdant areas for growing crops."

@c0debabe follow request accepted. In many of the job postings I've seen it requests that you are a Canadian citizen (and many don't help with anything immigration related).

But at least you can see what Canadian companies are currently hiring for.

Good luck!

@ipstenu regarding banks, I've found myself and other people tend to have good experience with credit unions. I've got one that doesn't charge any monthly fee but doesn't have the best web interface. Taking a look at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_u and ccua.com may help find one local to you.

Regarding phone companies, in my experience, people tend to use the same one until the company increases the price or does something else which frustrates them and they switch.

Glad to hear people have been helpful (I think it's because they want your money 🀣 ).

@malweene I have a question regarding adding a letter of reference. In many of the places I've applied (online), I don't see a spot to include this letter, where would you suggest adding it?

While I have multiple letters of reference, I'm a bit apprehensive to include them. As one person no longer works at that company, and someone else I haven't talked in many years. I don't want a potential company to contact these people and especially have the 2nd person not expect a call (or email) from a company. Is this not something I need to worry about?

@JMMaok I absolutely consider myself lucky that I didn't experience any members that who did speeches that were attempts to boost MLM sales or rehashed Fox News points. I have seen some feedback that could have been better in my opinion, and I'm sure there has been some feedback that is horrible.

Regarding internal complaints / feedback, I absolutely agree that it isn't very kind on volunteers.

It is hard when something is global, and people may want different things depending on their culture.

I agree that it has gotten me down a great path (some may consider it being given wings).

Thank you so much for your thoughts and things to consider.

@brunogirin and most members don't know the organization does this. Unless they read the rules / policies, that of course aren't easy to find.
