@davepolaschek yeah I try my best to avoid leaving parts that are likely to warp “loose” for very long for that reason.

@davepolaschek yeah i think if the drawer didn’t have so much bass wood I would too, but the basswood just wants to permanently deform so i have to be extra careful with it

Put an offcut in the slot. I think it’ll do nicely. Milled one of the drawer bottoms. Satisfying #woodworking

I forgot to post. I did in fact get all of the grooves plowed in both drawers, but on one I plowed the wrong side because I planed off the marriage mark. After consulting my better half, I’ll be putting a strip of the same species in the groove. We’ll see how noticeable it is… #woodworking
