Many thanks, @nomadgoat@pixelfed.social, for the additional info and for the lovely follow-up feedback! 🙏🏻😊 It may well have been and I agree with you it's definitely not a cat, but upon checking with a few friends living in the countryside they confirm there are no foxes (Not even a Fennec fox) to be found in the archipelago. It's not a breed that can be found in the wild over here and if it was a "pet" it's *definitely* illegal to have "imported" that kind of breed into the islands. It's super interesting nonetheless, and I guess you didn't manage to capture the moment, right?

While we are all waiting for #StormEmilia to fade away, with over 200 incidents in the archipelago so far and even some snow up in the mountains! 🥶, here's a snap shot of Maspalomas Dunes with the remnants of #StormClaudia from a month ago; still visible through the missing golden sand patches here and there. Will be staying indoors for the day, but kind of wondering what would be the impact from Emilia when it's all gone by tomorrow... We will have to wait and see, hope it's not too bad although it's been raining quite heavily so far, although not much wind, which helps ... Fingers crossed it continues like that for the remaining of the day ... Either way, in this snap shot you can see the traces of Storm Claudia, but there is also some gorgeous sunshine, blue skies blending in nicely with the blue of the ocean, some people wandering around the sand dunes on their way to the beach and overall my all time favourite view of the majestic and sublime sand dunes of Maspalomas 😍👍🏻 Bring on the rainfall! 🤘🏻😎

It's been raining for most of last night and this morning, but moderate without wind, which has been really nice. However, on other parts of the island, Storm Emilia has been pretty nasty! Lots of strong winds, tons of rain and even some snow up in the mountains! 🥶

So far, 200 incidents registered in the island and it's not over yet! 😳 Keeping my fingers crossed it won't create more damage but bring all of that much needed rainfall for the countryside 🤞🏻😅

We're expecting the heavy rainfall from tomorrow morning and for most of the day, so we shall see. Keeping our fingers crossed it won't be too bad and that it may go upward, to your neck of the woods, for some more needed rain. This one will be our 2nd "named" storm in less than a month! 😳

This is going to be quite an interesting weekend ahead. #StormEmilia will be hitting the Canaries with lots of strong winds and heavy rainfall, never mind the massive tidal force of the ocean, so we will have to wait and see the kind of damage that will be inflicted upon. Looking into the weather forecast, it looks like the south of the island will be hit, but not too bad. Either way, here's a snap shot of one of my favourite views (CampoInternacional & its golf course) announcing the calm before the storm hits ... I'll be keeping my fingers crossed the damage won't be too bad 🤞🏻😅

Well, yeah, my apologies, my fascination for the sand dunes of Maspalomas continues to live on ... Even after some recent heavy rainfall, they are still gorgeous and out of this world altogether! 😍👍🏻

I can literally spend hours and hours just watching the golden sand dunes being shaped by the capricious trade winds with the ocean in the horizon blending in nicely with the pale blue sky 🥰🥰🥰

(You can now resume your usual winter chores, folks, nothing else to see over here. I'll just keep minding my own kind of winter 😉 heh)

The hibiscus plant is having a bit of a break at the moment as we are about to enter the winter, but here's one of the most recent snap shots I took of a couple of white flowers in full bloom as if they were hanging out together enjoying the sunlight of the late afternoon. Just love the intensity of the red colour at the heart of the flower making up for a nice contrast between the white of the flower and the green leaves 🌺😍👍🏻

PS. The green leaves in the background are from the jasmine, that's also currently having a bit of a break heh

From a couple of days ago, here's a nocturne snap shot I took while going for an evening power walk in Playa del Ingles. You can see a bunch of duplex (Santa Ana), next to a parking lot, and a shopping centre mostly packed up with tourists right next to the ocean. Of course, I couldn't help myself capturing the full moon reeling over the water and did you notice the giant guitar right in the middle?!?! 😳🤯

From a distance ... The majestic Roque Nublo

There is a "hidden" gem, i.e. Presa de los Hornos, from where you can eventually get a much better view of the mighty Roque Nublo, from a distance, but even then it's still quite a sight! Surrounded by forests of pine trees, in a glorious blue sky winter day, with a balmy 23C, and the perfect conditions for some hiking out and about. Even more so, when in this snap shot, you can also see the plateau surrounding one of the several landmarks of the island, but also the Monk (El Monje) in a prayer position (on the left side) and the Frog (La Rana) right next to it. An spectacular view I can't wait to visit soon enough once my winter hiking season begins 😍👍🏻 heh

You're reminding me about visiting again another part of the island, up in the north, that's well-known to the locals as the Dragon's Tail because of the shape of the mountains aligning quite nicely along the coast suggesting there is a dragon just doing a bit of sunbathing on the shore. I should go again and take a snap shot to then compare it to this one heh
