Maybe he loves knowing that he’s succeeding at his goal of making the serf’s lives as miserable as possible.

Just like how the MuskRat clearly derives joy from being hated.

(Why else do the rich and powerful behave this way? They could use their money in ways that would make themselves *beloved*, yet they choose the opposite.)

@lackattack That’s the problem — there is *never* a part where the rich and powerful go to jail.

Always been the case for financial and property crimes anyway.

Wouldn’t have thought that actually raping children was something the rich could get away with, but apparently I was naive.

Very sorry that you are subjected to the wierd and creepy.

Selfishly, I hope you stick around, your posts are always appreciated.

I miss the days of things like BIX.
(Creepy dudes existed back then too of course, but between the cost of subscribing, and also maybe moderation, it was pretty darned civilized.)

Probably one of the better protest signs I’ve seen lately. 😄

Lol, we are having very different experiences. 😊

I love dimmers. Especially Lutron Caseta smart dimmers for home automation.

Essential for things like recessed LED lights. Without a dimmer, our kitchen, for example, would have two conditions: darkness, and noon in the desert. 😊

@alan Haven’t tried Hijack, but might need to move it up the list and check it out. Always good to get a referral from someone I “know”!

Seems like a lot of really good TV out there lately, so tough to keep up.

@lackattack Yeah, any time the red states want to split off and form their own country free of those awful socialist blue states, I’m in.

(Of course we’d probably still send them aid money, but at least they would then only be dragging us down financially and not societally as well.)

I’m happy to admit that Severance is brilliant, but after some (all?) of S1, we bailed — a little too bleak for me, especially after a lot of years in corporate offices! 😳

Ted Lasso and Shrinking a bit more of my jam. Acapulco was light fun.

And to show not limited to AppleTV, also very much enjoyed The Diplomat and Nobody Wants This on Netflix. And wow, so bitter that The Brothers Sun only got one season.

Yes, they have! repebble.com

The guy behind it all (then and now) Eric Migicovsky, has a blog here: ericmigi.com

I backed the original Kickstarter, but that was the only one I had.

I've rediscovered regular old mechanical watches (both quartz and non-electronic), so the Pebble feels like a nice middle-ground.

The perfect movie review doesn’t….

From a post on Threads:

From headlight.news yesterday:

Best review ever. On the Netflix
Melania "documentary":
"If they showed this film on a plane,
people would still walk out." -Variety

Hi!

Don’t have it yet, but pre-ordered a cool new Pebble watch. Thin, long battery life, and e-ink. Fun change of pace from the ubiquitous Apple Watch.

Oh, and Shrinking is back for season three on AppleTV! 😊

(Plus a metroc ton of terrible stuff going on here in the former “land of the free”, but pretty sure the world knows about that. 🙁)

Imagine if a cashier at Costco murdered two customers, and instead of them being arrested Costco was just like "Okay everyone calm down, we have demoted the cashier's boss from Manager to Assistant Manager".

Always afraid it will be an author I like. 😕

On the other hand, very happy when ones I like make it clear they aren’t Nazis!

For some reason, every time an official from the current administration gets behind a podium and starts talking, a bit from the 1986 movie An American Tail keeps coming to mind:

“Who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?”
