The need for censorship resistant digital cash grows by the day.

Satoshi, and those who came before him, paved the way for a technology that could change the course of history. If you stand on their shoulders and contribute to the cause, I salute you.

These releases fix a pair of denial-of-service issues. We recommend that everybody upgrade to one of the releases (0.3.5.14, 0.4.4.8, or 0.4.5.7) as they become available to you.

There is no good reason for apps to collect and sell location data, especially when users have no way of knowing how that data will be used.

Encrypt it.
FOSS it.
Host it.
And most importantly, don't Google it.

Bitcoin's subversive potential only occurs in smallish, circular Bitcoin economies whose participants avoid KYC & 3rd party services, practice privacy best practices and are idealogically driven.

The best examples are darknet markets and agorist groups.

Cryptoeconomics was first printed for #CryptoEcon2020 in Hanoi, one year ago today. In honor of this unlikely event, I've made the 2nd edition available as a free PDF.

@artdesignbysf just hang out in Hardware Market on Telegram and hit up some of the verified sellers from there. Someone will accomodate you for sure.

@bimmer yeah, idk what happened. While I was getting my beauty sleep, Synapse stopped running for some reason. No idea 🤷‍♂️ Restarted and it's fine.

Overall bitcoin twitter is very bad at discerning profound from platitudes

@satoshibaggins Monero. It is interesting in its approach of using rail emissions, essentially inflation but at a fixed, unchanging rate that everyone is aware of and agrees to up front.

Also the approach of dynamic block sizes will be interesting to see how that plays out if/when tx count approaches levels where it truly comes into play.

Philosophically similar to BTC as well, with a disappeared founder leaving no benevolent dictator. So yes, while it may get me cancelled, XMR is interesting.

I SSH'd into a Virtual Private Server and restarted a Synapse instance powering my usethe.tools Matrix community this morning using Termux app on a deGoogled Pixel 4a running CopperheadOS.

What a time to be alive.

They illegal smuggled in barrels and lockplates from France when they could, melted down tools when they couldn't, and armed a serious fighting force with guns they made (without any governmental permission slips from the Crown).

So good try, but history is clear on this.

@max @stephanlivera True dat. We can help noobs go much further with just a BIP39 passphrase + redundant backups than with complex multisig setups. Few.
