The "Alton Brown Cooks" series on YouTube is an absolute delight. The man is a culinary treasure.
DHS terminates TPS for those who fled the ongoing civil war in Yemen.
@WarnerCrocker this might be in the article. I'm not sure but not only consumer electronics but any business using a cloud solution is going to be paying a lot more soon as cloud providers, including the biggest ones, have to pay more for memory.
A handy chart into right wing ideology:
🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻 = normal society
🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏿 = slippery slope
🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻🧑🏿🧑🏿 = white genocide
If you use AI-generated code, you currently cannot claim copyright on it in the US. If you fail to disclose/disclaim exactly which parts were not written by a human, you forfeit your copyright claim on *the entire codebase*.
This means copyright notices and even licenses folks are putting on their vibe-coded GitHub repos are unenforceable. The AI-generated code, and possibly the whole project, becomes public domain.

"Door ajar" versus $100 billion valuation.
Today I learned that you can DoS a Waymo by opening its door.
"The More You Know..."
Waymo, Google's autonomous vehicle company, and DoorDash, the delivery and gig work platform, have launched a pilot program that pays Dashers, at least in one case, around $10 to travel to a parked Waymo and close its door that the previous passenger left open.

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/13/t...
@grumpasaurus just re-frame what is and is not negative and you're set!
Speaking of birds, this weekend is the Great Backyard Bird Count! Get outside this weekend and report what you see! https://www.birdcount.org/
In the category of "have I ever felt more seen?" I present: "Are you a black-capped chickadee" !
I am convinced that Agile is at least in part responsible for the proliferation of this sort of mentality in big tech. You teach a methodology that asks workers to focus only on a pretty user story about an ideal use case on a good day. And fifteen years later you have an entire generation of developers that cannot even recognize the practical imperfections of the real world that make their idea fucking stupid and unviable unless everyone acts exactly as expected.
@dhry hope the new job is going well!
@grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange @grumpasaurus@video.infosec.exchange that's my go-to for fried fish for sure.
@randomcha oh man, i've not listened to any st. germain in forever. this is is a classic. i'm going to re-listen to this whole album now and then slide on over to Guru's first Jazzmatazz album. tagging @smarq19 on this one for sure.
