Announcement of my return to Mastodon after vanishing for a brief spell. I experimented with abandoning social media in its entirety to explore mental health effects. Curiously, it left me feeling that much more isolated. So I'm concluding that carefully curated participation can still be a net benefit, it is good to feel integrated with a community, but I maintain avoidance of mainstream algorithm driven platforms.

Mastodon good. Fediverse good. Social media can, in fact, be good. But it requires awareness and deliberate participation, else it can too easily become very bad.

On the fediverse, posts rarely go viral. But at times, they will go "fungal", like mycelium quietly working its way through the substrate, popping up again like mushrooms every few months to make another quick round before going dormant again.

It's time to give myself a fresh look!

For a while now, I've had an anthro ref of my birb, but I've always regarded him as feral gryph first and foremost. I've been really itching to get myself a proper feral gryph ref and ended up commissioning ThlaylisDen!

As a bonus, this ref also includes me as a feral hawk. Look at me showing off my pretty feathers ^v^

@Isurandil Technically I'm employed until the end of February, but I'm on payed leave until then.

First job after finishing my masters and I was let go yesterday, after 4 1/2 months.

@sec_yote_agenda I'm pretty sure it's still a work in progress. The priority was probably to get everything moved over and get the website back up again, not making it feature complete. That will probably happen over the next months.
