Memo to the media:
Stop letting politicians get away with calling asylum seekers "illegal immigrants" or saying they're not coming to this country "the right way." Seeking asylum is legal. Presenting themselves at the border & requesting asylum is "the right way" to seek asylum.
@Wolfie_Rankin Morning! Somewhat belatedly, from me, as usual.
@dikkii Numbers stations apparently still broadcast. These are so strange. How many people listen?
Today’s brooch of the day is designed by Victorian based artist Pete Cromer, and made by Erstwilder. I bought “The Coy Cockatiel” in memory of my own little bird friend, who was a hand raised darling from a local bird specialist vet. She would demand cuddles and follow me around.

Libby (the library ebook app) thanks you for returning #books early with a virtual bouquet of flowers. A year or two ago, my son discovered that if you tap the bouquet, a fountain of flowers will gently cascade over your screen.
Such a simple moment of whimsy, and it makes me happy every single time.
@LifeTimeCooking @mgilpereira which is appreciated - there are those of us recovering from eating disorders, etc.
Inspired by someone here, having a go at crocheting this cute little squid by projectarian. It's a free pattern. Bit rusty on the crochet and haven't made amigurumi before. So far have made 3 squid legs. Very slowly. 5 more to go.

@geordie My Dad was a school teacher (Industrial Arts - woodwork, metalwork, tech drawing) but had to fill in for other subjects every so often. He always said “Just find the thing the kid is interested in. And you can teach them. If they love goats, then have them count goats, measure goats, make shelves for goats, work out how many goats balance a seesaw - just bring their goats along, you can teach them.”
@stufromoz @stgm Kikkoman do a gluten free soy sauce. Also look for tamari.
But yes, you do get very good at reading labels! You may find that you are able to tolerate small amounts of gluten, just nowhere near the amounts you may have been consuming.
The Monash University FODMAPS app may also be useful for you, and with an accredited dietitian. (I’m lactose and gluten intolerant, and have FODMAPS issues, I’ve been doing this for 10 years soon.)
@mvyrmnd In same places in California, they now are. Xeriscpaed gardens are preferred. Lawns have been phased out, especially silly big front lawns, which most people rarely used.
