I run a tiny security consulting company, make hotsauce, watch cartoons and figured out how to weaponize home assistant. I found 118 dollars of btc in my garage.

"Perl has served us quite well since Fastmail’s inception. We’ve built up a large code base that has continued to work, grow, and improve over twenty years. We’ve stuck with Perl because Perl stuck with us: it kept working and growing and improving, and very rarely did those improvements require us to stop the world and adapt to onerous changes."

Thanks to @rjbs and Fastmail for supporting Perl 5 core development. 🙏

Some engineers say “No,” and mean “No, we can’t.” Some engineers say “No,” and mean “No, but now I will think about it a lot.” The latter sometimes change to Yes delightfully unexpectedly.

"The new 'highly transmissible' COVID-19 variant: what Aussies need to know"

"The dominant strain, NB.1.8.1 - a sub-lineage of Omicron - is now circulating widely across Australia, although it is flying under the radar."

"NB.1.8.1 is highly transmissible, spreads faster than earlier Omicron variants, and has a shorter incubation period."

"NB.1.8.1 has one signature symptom, the stabbing throat. Many patients report a sharp, stabbing pain when swallowing, often before other symptoms appear."

I didnt set up a 'buy now' or store page for these things because I build them custom to-order. This customer only wanted 1 radar unit per kit. My kit has 3.

I've been watching my android keyboards on my phone slowly decay into enshittified garbage, and I deeply want an alternative.

Are there any that actually do multilingual input without a switch button? Having the keyboard figure what language I started typing in on its own is something I find hard to downgrade from. Most of my time is spent typing in Franglais Commun/Common Frenglish.

(That and good ca-fr dicts and models, etc)

@raineer objectively, home assistant is really fucking cool. I use it for a ton of shit and its genuinely wonderful

this new version, for newbies starting from scratch, will distinctly make shit way way easier.

the problem is that for turbonerds like me, taking away functionality breaks shit.
