@nexta

I don't think that a diameter of "11 metres" is correct.

I think that 1 metre would be closer to the mark... you naughty bot.

@jerry

Start writing out the toy shopping list now, Jerry.

Yes, these won't be required for a few years, but it helps to be organised.

Drum kits, whistles, xylophones, cymbal bashing monkeys, karaoke machines, electric guitars...
... anything your grandchild can use to annoy the hell out of your own kid.

Revenge is a dish best served cold, via a proxy, and at maximum volume!

Congrats!

@codinghorror

We both know, Jeff, that what the USA needs is much more than "thoughts and prayers".

The problems will not even be addressed with "regime change".

For the USA to climb out of the sh*thole it has burrowed into, it's going to take, at the very least:

1. Political activism
2. Long-term investment in education
3. An unbiased media
4. A Judiciary that can hold the Legislative and Executive branches both criminally and civilly accountable
5. The Will of The People to change their future

etc... etc... etc...

The rest of the world is watching, in horror, as the USA self-destructs and crumbles into irrelevance.

Change is not impossible, but it is about as likely as one winning a lottery...
... without buying a ticket.

@stuartl

Doing that would be one way of understanding Einstein's physics of...
... time dilation in the vicinity of a black hole.

@thelinuxcast

Damn straight.

See also: there's no such thing as bad music. There's just "music" and one either likes or not.

(Except for Country & Western...
... which is an abomination.)

@art

Cool.
I'm still kinda getting familiar with the vagaries and subtleties of the Fediverse.

The first time I looked at the (not) "defunct" account, it appeared with no profile pic and had 71 followers...
... compared with a few thousand on the other account.

Perhaps I should add the following to my own profile...
"Everybody! Please! Speak slowly.
I'll try to keep up with the conversation."

That looks like it may be a defunct masto account.

@apps

You're welcome!

A lawyer mate of mine once told me, "*Anybody* can steal from an employer, if they are a trusted employee."

Now, donors are not your employer, but they are your supporters, and they trust you. As you know "right from wrong" you'll also know if you've abused that trust.

Be open and honest, apply good judgement, and you'll be fine!

@apps

Look, the fact that you've even asked the question demonstrates you have a conscience and know right from wrong.

If the project(s) were abandoned, but donations were still being accepted, that would be unconscionable.

However, server fees, equipment repair or replacement, or anything needed to support the project would be fine.

@randahl
Waffles, Randahl?
Waffles?

When people get together to watch things burn, they roast marshmallows over the flames.

Bring marshmallows.

@TechDesk

Of course Bezos's "friendliness" with Trump and his future co-defendents is paying off!

That's what a "pay off", also known as a bribe, is meant to do! Pay off!

Bezos just spent over $100M+ in order to "pay off" Melania by giving her a "documentary" about her, plus $28M cash, so she'd keep up appearances with Fat Boy Trump.

For context, Bezos's wealth increases by $100M roughly every 24hrs.

Unless people wake the hell up to this sh_t and boycott Amazon, that $100M "investment in the documentary arts" will become another billion dollars in in the Bezoar's pocket.

@brianmerchant

@MaryAustinBooks

Yeah! There's been all too many occasions where a news headline was *absolutely indistinguishable* from satire.

"US Citizens Elect Misogynistic Adulterer whose Casino went Bankrupt... as President"

I mean, that was bad enough.

"Convicted Felon to be POTUS Again - Nutjob to be VP"

I don't know how Americans can maintain any sense of self-worth while those "elected to power" are themselves unworthy, not only of the office they hold, but even of being a US citizen.

@MaryAustinBooks

As I scrolled up into your toot (not a euphemism), I read the words,
"International Olympic Committee Asks Fans to Not Boo JD Vance at the Opening Ceremony," and I thought to myself,
"Here we go. Another pearler from @theonion "

It's looks fantastic!

And if ever there's a shopping frenzy or nearby peaceful protest, I'm sure the "pigs" will be only too happy to keep the "animals" in line.

@therightarticle

Hull.
Build the new UK Parliament in Hull.

"Kingston upon Hull" even has "King's Town" in the name.

@msdropbear

Wow.
Sussan Ley is less popular than him?
She must be related to Trump... who knew?

@2001

I'm REALLY thankful I was awake for this scene transition.

I really *hate* it when I nod off during a movie, only to wake up and find that the storyline has moved forward 3 million years.

@phocks

OMG!
It's happening!

Gotta be merely a frame or two away from the match cut now.

So... prolly within the next week?
