Grateful to Ruthanna Emrys for this wonderful blurb for THE WILDCRAFT DRONES:
“Rare as morel mushrooms, sweet as acorn bread, and unexpected as BBQ-flavored crickets…” Rex's stories root themselves in transformation, resilience, and the small, surprising seeds of change already growing in our lives.

Blurb for T. K. Rex's THE WILDCRAFT DRONES from Ruthanna Emrys. "The Wildcraft Drones presents a fascinating future: hopeful, flawed, and ever-changing as characters continually fight for something better. Rare as morel mushrooms, sweet as acorn bread, and unexpected as BBQ-flavored crickets, it will provoke you to imagine new possibilities and find their seeds in roadside blackberries." Ruthanna Emrys is the author of A Half-Built Garden, Winter Tide, and Deep Roots. She also writes radically hopeful short stories about religion and aliens and psycholinguistics.

Heads up: for anyone who stopped by to chat with us at the book fair this weekend, if you're feeling poorly you may want to test for Covid and/or stay away from vulnerable friends and family. I tested positive this morning. So far it's stuffy nose/head, sneezing, fever, and quite painful body aches.

This interview with Lynn Hutchinson Lee is a beautiful reflection on how ecological fiction grows from attention, entanglement, and daily life. “The world is ever-present… events, stimuli are always bombarding us,” she says, describing the layered consciousness behind Orchid’s world. We’re also thrilled to see her new book coming soon from Assembly Press - that cover is absolutely stunning! Southern Ontario Gothic! Highly recommend the read.

A screenshot collage of the "Fens, Tobacco Fields, and Hopeful Cli-Fi" Interview with Lynn Hutchinson Lee, published by Interstellar Flight Press. The interviewer is Lisa Timpf. The excerpt reads: "in my daily life, the kinds of issues you mention are continuously teeming around inside me. For me, the world is ever-present. We don’t move along life on one single narrow track: events, stimuli are always bombarding us. In my own life, I can’t separate them from each other. As I answer this question, I’m looking out at the garden, seeing the changing leaves, nudged by the grocery list I need to write, or the text messages I have to respond to, remembering the headlines I just read in the paper, thinking about the world events behind the headlines. They’re enmeshed, all part of a whole. So, as I relate to the world in this complex way, this is also how I wrote Orchid’s world."

The City & The City posted their 2025 bestsellers and we love to see a Stelliform book on the list! Also of note: the book is on the list because it is great, yes, but also because The City & The City read and loved it and recommended it and made it a bookclub feature. Indie bookstores are THE BEST.

We're a bit late with our new year's wishes. It takes time to muster up the optimism these days, but what else can we do but face the year with love and creativity and good books to support us? Resistance and transformation are hard work. May you find the stories and the courage you need this year.

On a black and white forest background, the cover of Rebecca Campbells short story collection THE OTHER SHORE. The text reads: Eco-fiction Review: The Other Shore by Rebecca Campbell, from Stelliform Press. The places in The Other Shore don’t sit stationary, but drift across distances and into pasts, presents, and futures. There’s a lot to think about in these pages and I recommend picking up this collection if you like speculative fiction that skews to the literary.
