Excited to share a new #3dprinting approach that learns from the materials to be printed, to automatically create designs and prints that conform to living cells, particles or any object embedded within a printable resin for light based printing.

We showed applications in building customized blood vessels, as well as osteochondral tissues via #bioprinting

(6/n) With this new tech now available, future work will focus on moving to longer-term vessel culture and maturation. On top of that, since many more new composite structures can be produced, we look forward to see what the @ISBioFab #biomaterials #regmed communities will do!

(5/n) Functional movable parts, such as venous valves can be printed to produce more native-like anatomical features. Multi-material, multi-cellular prints are also possible, as shown with bioprinted, three-layered vessel models.

(4/n) Even when using soft GelMA hydrogels for cell culture and #biofabrication, composites with MEW fibers resulted in shape-stable constructs. Enhanced tensile and burst performance were achieved by varying the MEW tubular mesh patterns, and compared to native blood vessels
