the irony

A screenshot of a tweet from Austin Belcak (@austinbelcak) talking about resume gaps Q &A during an interview. It reads as follows:

"Can you explain this gap on your resume?"

The response from the OP:
"Sure, are you familiar with the 1,500 companies collectively worth $5 trillion that have laid off 367,000 workers in the past 18 months?"

Sure, Trump is credibly accused of launching a violent coup against his own country, committing espionage on behalf of hostile foreign countries, and a 91 total felonies, but Hunter Biden had a gun he wasn't supposed to have, and he didn't pay his taxes on time, therefore Trump is innocent! Why are we wasting everyone's time talking about Trump?

Why is everyone making a big deal about treason when we could be talking about Hunter Biden instead?

the single most dangerous person in any company is the guy who just discovered openclaw. he will reorganize the entire workflow into 340 nested cron jobs and then quit two weeks later leaving behind a system that no human being can navigate or comprehend. call him spartacus.

The UK has announced plans to fast-track legislation requiring “age verification for VPN use”. The correct term, however, is not age verification but identity verification.

A law like this would require everyone to identify themselves in order to use a VPN. This would pose a risk to whistleblowers, violate human rights, and represent yet another step toward an authoritarian society.

Just so disabled people in the UK know, if Reform UK get in, they would repeal the Equality Act, describing it as divisive and a political fashion statement. If you aren't interested in politics, it's worth bearing in mind that politics is interested in you - the immigrant carers that help you, your benefits, your access to work, your right to live free from discrimination, companies' obligations for accessibility, Uber's obligation to take guide dogs.

COVID and Long COVID have become politicized. People don't want to talk about it. People with symptoms dismiss them as age or being in their head. But Long COVID is real, and the fact you've had COVID two or three times and recovered does NOT mean your next infection won't be the one that leaves you struggling with fatigue, sleep issues, cardiovascular issues, chronic inflammation or other problems.

Be more careful, especially when COVID is surging, please.

Fun fact to keep you awake tonight: Just had a chat with an atmospheric chemist and the best comparison she could come up with for the pollution that would result from burning up 1 million "AI datacenter" satellites in Earth's atmosphere is a nuclear war.

NY Times, which has previously been criticized for making light of his crimes, comes right out and condemns Trump.

"As a presidential candidate, Mr. Trump seemed to recognize the problems with military overreach. ... In 2024, he said: “I’m not going to start a war. I’m going to stop wars.”

He is now abandoning this principle, and he is doing so illegally. The Constitution requires Congress to approve any act of war. ..."
