Thinking lately about how math notation is a blessing and a curse. It can be useful to perform algebra or other symbol manipulation to solve math problems, but this also obscures the meaning of what we do. So when tackling a hard math problem you kind of want to think more deeply and set the symbols aside. This I guess is true of language as well-- we can recognize "empty rhetoric" as being words which do not have thought behind them. These are baby level observations I suppose but here I am.

I have put two #piano sonatas, composed in 2023-2024, up on my website. These are really significant for me; I want to keep writing music in this way. Maybe I will find some way to perform them or have them performed.

I made a couple #flash games playable by ruffle.rs WASM plugin.

I've also finally added an #RSS feed, which seems to be working in at least one reader.

As one more reward I want to draw your attention to Kohei Tanaka who is an incredible and prolific composer, I listen a lot to his vgm soundtracks from SNES and PS1 era. He does not seem known that much not on the level he should be!

What I think about a fair bit is an ap implementation that was totally ephemeral. This might be unpopular but the idea of social media posts lasting forever is not actually a good thing, and I don't just mean because bad people datamine them for bad purposes, I mean the attitude it creates in how we approach it. I wonder if overall interactions on these kinds of sites work better when we feel like they are just an in the moment conversation and not a permanent testament and everlasting record.

Note I am NOT tryna call out mastodon.social as being a problem for some reason I just mean it's a better feeling to be somewhere specific to your interests.
