This is our purgation, sharing our hopes and griefs with those willing to listen and lose themselves in the moment. We journey into unhealed scars and rip open new ones through playing songs from our EP’s ‘Life Isn’t Lived, It Is Suffered Through’ and ‘Deeper Into The Wound’ as well as our full-length ‘The Light Outlives The Sun’ and more recently on our latest single ‘ An Angel Entombed’.

*Dad Magic*
Dad Magic is a post-hardcore band from Ghent, Belgium. Their unique blend of post-hardcore with danceable elements creates a surge of energy that is bound to get you moving. With a combination of catchy melodies and snarling vocals, the band guarantees a set full of fun.
Sometimes sincere, sometimes irreverent, always honest.

*Rites*
DIY, 80’s nostalgia, vinyl and fast guitars: that’s Rites. With four releases including the new record No Change Without Me and over 120 (international) shows to their name, this hardcorepunk outfit is just getting started. Rites is not afraid to speak up about the current state of the world. Influenced by bands such as The Distillers, Dag Nasty and Drug Church, Rites presents high energy hardcore with a punkrock twist.

The evening will also include:
* Stand up-comedy by Jochem van Herwijnen (SPEAR)
* Hardcore lecture by Yordi Dam (Hard Tegen Hard zine)

Ik kan gelukkig aan het zout in mijn muren zien tot hoever het water in 1945 stond qua hoe hoog ik mijn meubels dan op blokken moet zetten.

Last Friday I saw 40 Watt Sun opening for Stygian Bough, and it seems to have come just in time, as it is the music really fitting in with my mood.

As a DIY band it's hard getting shows out there (and hard for us individually to find shows around us to visit). Bands In Town seems promising but isn't on the same level yet.

For Dutch shows there's now a new platform at https://calendar.askapunk.nl! Find shows you like and GO! The only way to make this work is when it's as complete as possible, so bands and promoters, make sure to add your shows there, DIY!

@ObsidianUrbex sharing here and pixelfed works for a few, but I'm used to sharing 20'ish photos per band, with option to them to download so they can use 'm for promotional stuff.

Any photographers out here care to share their two cents?

For years I've been photographing mostly small punk and hardcorebands and sharing the photos through Flickr galleries.

I wonder how other people "showcase" and share their photos?
I don't think I feel like creating and maintaining a website.

Last night got a message from my partner that Northern Light was visible even in Ghent, so gave it a quick look over in Middelburg and could see the faint glow even from my home with the streetlights on.

HAARLEM, Thursday January 29! Free show at Patronaat, with Third Ego and @Rites this will be memorable 🖤 🔥

5 years ago, on January 31, 2020, we played Patronaat and that would be the last pre-pandemic show and our last show with Toon. Just like the rest of the world we pretty much took a break from live shows for over 2 years. We returned to playing live in April 2022 at Shred Fest at Waalhalla in Nijmegen with Ben on bass.
