@mlanger They do come in differing levels of difficulty.
I am a retired government CIO. #Podcast host (Fusion Patrol.) Married, 25+years, kids grown and (mostly) adulting. Citizen #Potawatomi Nation member. #Ebike enthusiast. #Atheist. SciFi & Tokusatsu Fan (Trek, Doctor Who, Blakes 7, Babylon 5, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and many more.). Love a good crossword or #KillerSudoku. Have an app in iOS App Store (Killer Sudoku Aide.) Probably other stuff but I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition. #Taiwan is a country.
@mlanger They do come in differing levels of difficulty.
Suddenly I want an M5 MacBook Air, despite my M2 MacBook Air still being a beast.
Hmm, that post was actually meant to be ‘at-signed” at someone, but since it wasn’t, here’s the deal. If your an Apple-ecosystem #KillerSudoku player (or you’d just like help looking for bugs and crashes) my app Killer Sudoku Aide (new version, after 3 years) can be beta tested via TestFlight.
Join the beta here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/4FJ7aGHb
@mlanger Also, because a lot of people don't know how to play KS puzzles, I've made up a rather long-winded blog post explaining the app and what its supposed to do, plus link to resources about Killer Sudoku puzzles (and places to place KS puzzles)
@mlanger Just in the interest of absolute clarity (because I get this confusion a LOT) "Killer Sudoku puzzles" are different from killer "Sudoku puzzles." KS puzzles are a lot less well-known. Also, my app is not a game app , it's a reference utility for helping play KS puzzles.
So, here is the link to Beta program. It's for iPhone, but should install/work on iPads or Macs. You will need the TestFlight app from Apple to install it. https://testflight.apple.com/join/4FJ7aGHb
Killer Sudoku Aide – What Is It?
Just to be absolutely clear: My app, Killer Sudoku Aide is not a game. It's a reference tool/utility to help solve Killer Sudoku Games. Killer Sudoku games are not killer Sudoku games. They are related, but different puzzles. Preface Several years ago, I got addicted to Killer Sudoku puzzles, not to be confused with "killer Sudoku puzzles." I like them because the exercise the math part of my brain, and, I'll say without too much…
@TBYG @heidilifeldman Yes they do.
Today's Xcode sidequest: Creating a QuickLook plugin to view .vtt WebVTT subtitle files.
Mission Accomplished!
@mlanger I will send you a Test Flight link when it’s cleared.
@rands someone else said it best:
“Thank god congress isn’t alive to see this.”
I’ve also been updating my three-year-old #KillerSudoku Aide application.
Mostly just some additional cosmetic options, and adding some monetization (in-app tips) to the app.
Now I wait for Apple to approve it to send to TestFlight users.
#KillerSudokuAide is a reference app to help narrow down possible sum combinations. If you’d like to help test it in TestFlight, hit me up.
@dlupham “…no rigid rules…” seems to sum up every interaction I’ve ever had with business/government in Taiwan.
Same office, same day, different desk, different answer.
I’ve been having a hoot of a time the last few days building a new really niche Mac utility app in Xcode.
It’s just a stupid tool to allow me to compare two versions of the same audio file each post-processed in different ways.
But I wanted it, and dammit, I’m gonna have it.
@TimMaddog Typically, I try to use “Mandarin” for that reason; however, it doesn’t help that the gov’t document called it “Chinese” (in English, anyway) and that my Taiwanese wife of 27 years always calls it “Chinese.”
Surprise bureaucracy from #Taiwan the other day. My eldest applied for and got their Taiwanese passport; however, because they've always used my (self-chosen for Mandarin class) Chinese family name rather than their mother's actual family name, *I* was required to officially adopt my Chinese name.
I guess I can now truly say "我叫高尤金."
@donovan_smith I can neither fault the logic of your plan, nor the reality of the unplanned outcome.
Still, it’s nice to know you’re still here.
Really impressed with some of the enhanced effects on the #Blakes7 series 2 Blu-ray episode #Redemption.
Especially some of the subtle work enhancing the nuclear reactor plant used as Spaceworld. It actually looks almost like a space station set and not just a nuclear reactor.
@evoterra ever since I got an ecobee thermostat I can leave the heat and cooling temperature set year-round without mucking with it, but then comes the day when it surprises you when it comes on.
Yesterday was the day when my air conditioning came on for the first time this year
@podfeet @spsheridan best wishes for a speedy recovery
#IHOP seems confused with our order.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have ordered my eggs “half scrambled, half sunny side up”?
