My home is in south eastern New South Wales. I have interests in: #climatechange as it seems the world many be a very unpleasant place for my kids and grandkids, the #environment for a similar reason, #physics as it makes our civilisation possible, #astrophotography because it’s cool, #photography as I like capturing the moment, #renewableenergy as it’s the only way out of the #climatecrisis, renewable powered vehicles as #evs and hydrogen is the way of #fossilfuels.

"The world is closer than thought to a “point of no return” after which runaway global heating cannot be stopped, scientists have said."
The bus driver was friendly and talkative. He was fond of combustion cars and did not believe any global warming is going on. "They taught us in middle school that CO2 is a cooling compound that forms extremely cold ice. How can that be a warming gas?"

@abcfeeds somehow I don’t think 7 years or less makes me feel safe from this type of person.

@AssociatedPress @politics-AssociatedPress there are other countries that actually have Departments of Health’s that would be interested. As the US no longer has competent medical administrators, the world may have to go on alone.

You think Epstein was the only one?
That all these activities stopped after he was arrested?
The global economy must be radically transformed to stop it rewarding pollution and waste, UN secretary general António Guterres has warned.
We must place true value on the environment and go beyond GDP as a measure of human progress and wellbeing.

I just finished reading “City of Blades” by Robert Jackson Bennett, which is the sequel to his excellent “City of Stairs”. This one was also excellent. It focuses on one of the secondary characters from the first book, a disillusioned military general who is pulled out of retirement to do some investigative work. She is sent to a country whose god should be dead — but there are signs that something supernatural may be happening.
Great character development, constantly surprising story, really satisfying ending. Looking forward to the third book.

@CelloMomOnCars that’s the same in Australia. The last bid sets the price for everyone. Old fossil systems that don’t suit the renewable world.
