This is America. This is what the the whole of the US government, Heritage Foundation, John Birch Society, America First, Ku Klux Klan, eugenics movement, moral majority, the wealthy, out of control capitalists, too big to fail corporations and on and on, have been fighting for from the beginning.

The fascist does not "believe" anything - or rather he believes ANYTHING that justifies the accumulation and exercise of power, preferably through violent means, in the moment. If he needs to believe A, to be a fascist today, he believes A. And if he needs to renounce A tomorrow and now believe B, he does that too.
So fascism cannot, ultimately be about what you believe. Cause what they believe, is subject to rapid, irrational degrees of change.
Fascism, is what you do.

As a former "gifted" elementary school student, I'm 100% in favor of Mamdani's proposal to end the gifted programs in early public education. When you're separating 6 and 7yo's and saying "These kids are special and high-achieving," you are selecting almost entirely for kids with learning support at home, and allocating extra resources to them, while draining resources from the kids with less support.

In a statement, David Ormsby said Noem appeared "unannounced" at the Village Hall "asking for a meeting while Mayor Katrina Thompson was out of the building." Thompson was instead on her way to meet Noem at the ICE facility.
Thompson went to the ICE center, accompanied by Broadview Police Chief & officers, to ask for an illegal fence to be dismantled. The Mayor was told at the gate that Noem was unavailable to meet. They were also told that the bathrooms were unavailable at the ICE facility.
